Guest FEC808 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I tried the search but didn't find much info. I love the Futura look & split headstock. The Hamer version seems to be hard to find for me. Were these Nielsen's USA made & what should I expect to pay? Thanks for your advice
cmatthes Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 There were two standard models. RN Futura Limited edition: USA-made, Korina, special engraved Sterling signature control plate (wRick's sig and number), RN's name (in Jpns) on TRC, b/w checkerboard case, chicken head knobs, etc. Very few of those out there, but you can find 'em if you look long and hard for one. Korean-made import RN Signature: Maple construction (pretty sure?), mahogany stain finish, stamped signature on guard, small gold "Hamer" logo on headstock, uncovered black HBs. There was also a small run (5-6) of non-Nielsen Korina Futura-style guitars that predated the RN run, and several others have been custom ordered since they rolled out in '99. I will say that the USA-made Korina guitars are very special guitars in that every one of the ones I've played (@9-10 of them) are just amazing. I was lukewarm to cool on the body style until I played one, and that truly won me over.
Submariner85 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 There's an import on Ebay right now.http://cgi.ebay.com/Hamer-Rick-Nielsen-Sig...1QQcmdZViewItem
bubs_42 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Chicken Head Knob's are Cool! If the Korean Model is anything like the 90's Korea Natural Standards they would be awsome Stage guitar's. Real Eye Catchers... I do believe their was an ebay auction for a Korina Pre RN on Ebay about 3months ago?, That guy was wanting 3g's...
Armitage Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I never understood what they had to do with Rick....
cmatthes Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I never understood what they had to do with Rick....I'm with you, Bill. I'd think that a Tbolt, like RN was using at the time, would be more appropriate.
