acb Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Hamer Sunburst 7 0012, lean and clean, bound and crowned, no known mods. Swwweeeeeeeeettt. I purchased this guitar in 1985. I was surprised to find it on display at a local Sam Ash music store - it was one of the guitars a high school friend/musician owned; another music store he managed was one of the first authorized Hamer reps in NYC. He played locally, did some studio work… this guitar saw action before he traded it to upgrade his gear. I played it for a few years recreationally and stashed it when I made the big mistake (a.k.a. first marriage) and stopped playing electric, more recently kicking around on acoustic. This guitar has been sitting under a staircase for nearly ten years. I was pleasantly surprised to discover an active Hamer Lunatik Club - I’ve had a few good laughs reading through the message threads (some funny personalities here). The initial message I posted about this guitar was lost in the recent crash; thought I’d repost and share a few pictures. This guitar is not for sale or trade. Sincere thanks to several HFC forum members who shared information about this guitar. I encourage you and others to add your knowledge to this thread. Feel free to add your own vintage porn and information about early Hamer instruments and production. Gratitude not attitude :-)
BadgerDave Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 1984. One of the last of the original Sunburst models to be built. Possibly a custom order as it has a 1 3/4" nut.
serial Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 OK, a Sunburst (little different) and a VERY old Hamer. (BTW, #7 0012 looks killer!)

I humbly take a bow and say "Thank you".It's a great guitar with a great tone, 1979.Neck on the slim side but very comfortable. Not as beefy in tone as my other 79 Sunburstbut it holds a very good tone none the less.Got it from Greg @ BCR three years ago.I think it once belonged to someone else on the board?disturber
