Carl.B Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Just saw this morning if anyone is in Ontario CA you may want to check it out! http://used.samashmusic.com/item.php?id=26852
veatch Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Chap with boomers and a sustainiac. Yup. Well worth the asking price.
diablo175 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Goddammit, shouldn't be looking at this after a couple o' strong margaritas. I have ZERO fucking need for a Chap. Zero. Just about any my Cali's would wipe the floor with that Chap...if I could play them properly. But they could do it and that's not the point; I don't need a Chap.
atquinn Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 It was gone about the moment it was listed. Someone got a cool deal!-Austin
diablo175 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I doubt I'll be buying a mutha fukkin' Chap. That's the doubt yer sensin'-
veatch Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 The Sustainiac took that one over the top.This. And it's why it would go well with a collection of Calis.

But I just can't give them their due props. Largely because Cali's, IMO, set the bar pretty high aesthetically and functionally. Oh, and then there's that 3 pick up issue. Tits on a bull. McChris' is the only Chap I've seen that would make me wanna pull the trigger. Fine instrument, there. Fine instrument.

Fine instrument.Amazing what a reverse headstock can do to one's perception of a guitar! And I agree with you about middle pickups. I have no need for a quack tone. I've considered yanking the one in mine and just putting an empty pickup cover in place of it.

Yours seems to have some kinda mojo. The color is kick ass. Kinda working class brooding yet, sparkly and flamboyant. I'd agree, pull that middle tit outta there and drop in a low lying p'up cover.
MCChris Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Another reason why I'd like to go that route is because the assclown outfit I ordered the Rios from sent me one pickup with flat rails and another with arched rails. It's that kind of shit that really annoys me. Yeah, I should have exchanged one of them, and sonically I'm sure it makes no difference, but I thought I could get over the inconsistent visual. I was wrong. Plus that would make mine more similar to Brooks' old Bob Wilson Chap:
