Hamer 12 string bass. This is a late 80's, custom ordered from the factory in original atomic yellow finish, with dual X2NB pickups, and factory wired so you can run each pickup to a different amp or I have a stereo adapter and you can use one jack. Single truss rod model, but haven't had any issues with the neck. Great 12 string bass with tones of tones!!! Comes with origal hamer hsc.

I swear, I was just thinking about that yellow B-12 two nights ago...

Where we gonna get 4500$ between us then Ben? We can take the 4 x 6-stringers ;)

Captain Morgan jumped ship with Tom Peterson. I wondered what happened to the cool yellow bass he had. I foolishly passed on it when it was offered to me. I'm still waiting on the short scale 4 string version to show up for sale.

Tom is playing Gretsch basses mostly now! ;)

That yellow 12ver is one of many cool 80s (and some later) custom bass orders by three Colorado Hamer bassists back then.

The sunburst eight knob Sunburst Quad you have is also from that group, Peter. Lost in a pawn shop by one of them.

I've got a few that came from those guys and have seen several others. They had some nice stuff. I became friends with one of them and he told me lots of Hamer tales. Appaently they were on first name basis and some had been to the factory mu;tiple times.

One of their's I have is the first long-scale Hamer root-octave bass...a four-digit Standard 8-string made for Jon Brandt. But he left CT and never picked it up, so one of these guys bought it when he spotted it at the factory. I've posted pics before....looks like an early converted 4-string headstock with the tuners paired strangely but it was done at the factory.

Another one of their's I have is an early Cruisebass ('82...matching headstock, fretless, no pkguard) in the matching color to that yellow B12S....signed on the back under the clear in HUGE signatures by both Paul Hamer and Jol Dantzig. I think there is an old HFC string about it, where I was asking if anyone else had factory signed Hamer by both Paul and Jol. Still haven't seen another pop up.

What are the necks like on the chappies?

Majorly drool-worthy!

I would say they are medium size. Definitely not skinny necks and not huge either.

Also forgot to note that the red snakeskin has a ebony fingerboard and the yellow dragonskin is rosewood board.

Thanks

I think Peter sold me one of his TLE's last year - great guy, easy to communicate with and that guitar is now my #1 because of its versatility. GLWS

Peter, the Cap'n is killing me, but unfortunately, college tuition payments are killing me faster!

One of my favorites ever, just behind your double bound n' boomered one.
