  1. I want thos PL VooDoos............First dibs on them bro. Let me know what your gonna do with them. Thats a seriously nice Studio. Which I had the extra loot for the Vector.
  2. Thats a seriously nice Studio bro. man, I like the VooDoos also. Nice neck profile, excellent top. Well thought out, Winner all the way around at a very good price. V is Killer also and the Zander. All Top Rank nice pieces. GEEZ what are you playing?
  3. Nice Amp.
  4. Ebony does it for me. I like Rosewood/Alder with Teles and Strats though. No wolf-tones with the ebony but everyone is gonna have their preference I believe. Hey I can deal with Ash/Maple others wouldn't have it any other way?
  5. Glad you finally grabbed one and like it. The DD-5's are nice too. What are you using both? I wouldn't get rid of the DD-5, but that my opinion. Big difference with the Digital and Analog. Thats why I have a couple. And why I hung onto the Visual Sound H2O which is really more of an echo than a Delay. But just so sweet sounding. But ya the Digital is a different ballgame. I like the DD-5's though. I played one of the new Hand Wired Delay/Loopers yesterday also. That I didn't care for. And anyone looking for a Looper should stay clear of it. I didn't fool with the rest of the pedals but the whole Hand-Wired line was out. I want a Digitech Looper but not the big unit, the pedal size unit. have to have it.
  6. Nice Greg, Why not go with a Blank fretboard with the position markers on the side only. Ya definatly a sustain-block.
  7. Great to have you around Paul, and Thanks for everything.
  8. Sounds pretty cool, Good Luck. Everyone is a bit different how crowds effect them though. Without a doubt how well your prepared will have an effect on the outcome. But for the first few moments focus on exactly what your doing and not the crowd. I believe once you get rolling you should loosen right up and loose the butterflys.
  9. Billy is tough John has a great clean Tone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5mFVo55bKQ
  10. Jarts............remember those, what happened to them? Little Johnny next door had one sticking out of the side of his head?
  11. No sh^t Poe and $275 per side? I been thinking about building another Newport similiar to mine with a quilt top but with those prices? Have to wait a couple minutes.
  12. I hear that. I got to thinking about breaking down and setting up those Marshalls? Probly doing 200-250 gigs a year. Lot of lifting.
  13. Fo-Shore..lol Bridges? I'm kinda open minded to them all. Theres something I like about the Tones on all of them. And something I don't like about the construction of all of them.
  14. Have to check out the first two LPs? I don't remember anything from before La Grange? Big in 74 though. No kidding, I remember Black Oak, but don't remember him. I'm gonna check him. Sounds like like some new stuff to get on the CD player. Its tough now man, so much bull on the radio. Almost seems like we went backwards.
  15. I didn't know Buddy Whittington got out his own now. Have to check him out. Caught him a couple times with the BluesBreakers in the late 90s early 2000, I believe it was. Blues for Lost Days but I can't remember the earlier CD with Mayall. Had Spinning Coin on it, that was the first time I had seen Buddy though. He carried a Vintage Strat and Les-Paul with him and was bouncing back and forth. Nice Player, Mayall was having him do his own 15min set then where he led the band and sang.

  17. The carved tops are a bit of a problem with "upgraded" compensated bridges. They become a pretty tight fit. I did a LP-DC 1998 or 97 I believe it was with a Leo Quan. It worked but the Carve profile made it tight. Its got to be the same with the Hamers Carves. I haven't owned a Comp Hamer. So they might "not" be the same as the LPs but I would think they are. They catch my interest though. There were a LOT of things I liked about the LP-DC Compensated. I A/B'd it with a DC Standard and it blew the Standard away. Fatter 59 neck on the Studio also. I been eye balling those Newp. 90s double bound with the Wrap for awhile. Not sure what I'm gonna do next. BTW The intonation isn't as much as the issue as the individual string adjustment. IF you can live with the set-stock bridge as the string path is? IMO its a better look. Well like I mentioned. I've upgraded a few going back and always think I'll like the guitar better. Then I put the upgraded bridge on? I "always" long for the original look? Though the design above is pretty good also. Trim and clean. But ya, they just get too big and Gawdy looking. And as Chris and I touched on with the carve? Could be a problem with string height?
  18. Yup thats pretty much it. I prefer to see an Artist early on. Its the Rawest versions of them and its really what interests me, and turns me on. The polished acts further on down the road? Their great too, and you see a much more relaxed performer, much more on top of their game, and much more of a "show" so to speak. Thats great for the paying audience who are simply out for an evening to catch a show from a peformer at the top of their game. I always preferd to see the early days. The Struggle, the Sweat, the slightly Weary performer. That inspires me.
  19. Double Down is the Bomb. Its early and it shows the pointy guitars. The Rev isn't singing in the Deep voice that came later and they really were in the early stages of working together on stage. Dress and what not came as they Evolved. Eliminatior was ....well, you'll hear it with different ears now.
  20. Couldn't make it.......Evil Stuff man
  21. I have to go back and listen to Legs quick and check the Harmonics between chord changes. I hear that in Billy Gs playing often though. The Rev is a Bad Mother F......er.
  22. I've seen the humbucker Studios with a Compensated Bridge. I don't know that I've seen a order with a Studio Custom done that way? It would have to be a Custom Order no? I always felt these bridges caught a seriously unfair bad-rap. On a Studio I think they are the Bomb.
  23. Steely Dan......I hear you! BTW I caught Brother Jed, not in person but on TV preaching Live at Arizona State. He's at ASU often, must be a LOT of Gods work to be done their? Hes good but I also thought he was seriously provoking.
  24. Big around 73-74. Listen to the Music, The Captain and Me, Black Water. Oh ya they were right there with the Southern Rock movement. Sounded very good live as did most of the Southern Rock Bands. But the Doobies and Marshall Tucker may have been as close to the recordings as I've ever heard.
