HAMER STD 1974 replica

Beautiful work! I don’t see any strap buttons, I suppose that’s up to the owner’s preference? I’m not an aficionado of Explorers but always thought the body shoulder by the neck heel made more sense than the back of the heel. -

@Len : Great job! Some idiot will ask so I might as well be me: How much does she weigh? GLWTS! -
I read on TGP that players stack the ‘Bidet’ pedal afterwards to clean the sound up a bit following the ‘Fart’ pedal.

1980 Special on eBay (NA)
topekatj replied to kizanski's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Is it the gaps on either side of the neck ‘tongue’ at the end of the fingerboard where it joins the body? Now that you mention it, there’s no close up of the heel in the listing. But, could be Jake for all I know. -
1980 Special on eBay (NA)

Nice, It appears there was a lot of sun exposure, see headstock edges relative to the back of the headstock. Also, I don’t claim to know much but are the knobs original? I know, nitpicking. -

DAMN! Great looking axe from the front—- WTH happened to the back? https://reverb.com/item/87068238-robin-wrangler-2002-blonde -
@ArnieZ Lucky guy! I never realized it was the ‘Pictures of Lilly’ drum set (shown above, pre destruction) that was destroyed on the Smothers Brothers show. https://reverb.com/news/keith-moon-and-his-pictures-of-lily-drum-kit

I’m not sure how common this footage is, but meet the High Numbers, circa 1964

I’ve got to ask: How does that bridge feel under the edge of your picking hand? It looks sharp and pokey.

@HSB0531 You got me curious when you described how the drivers and port are aligned in the various models. The drivers and ports in my 4311Bs are aligned just as Rob’s photos show above, but they’re not mirrored. A photo below shows the 4310 alignment, perhaps the 4311’s are similar
-
Thanks for the info @HSB0531. Differences between the 11Bs and 12’s include: - the drivers in the 11Bs aren’t a mirrored set as shown in Rob’s photos - I believe the 11Bs were meant to be installed suspended such that the woofers were at the top of the enclosure and the attenuators were at the bottom. Since my speakers are now set up as shown in Rob’s photos (woofers at the bottom, attenuators at the top), the nameplate text is now upside down on my speakers. And the attenuator knobs are located on the (now) ‘top left’.
-
Nice snag, the 12” bass driver in those is hard to beat. I’ve had a pair of 4311Bs forever, they now part of my lofi ‘video audio’ rig. The mid and high attenuators are notorious for failing. If they are not working properly I can offer input on how to access them for replacement. Have fun with those

Looks interesting, some additional photos would be appreciated. RE fret ends: perhaps the guitar is a bit dry = fret sprout, re/humidify necessary?
-
The red Hamer 12er is in nice shape but has to be neck heavy with the short upper horn. ‘Tony S.’ on the TRC, Tony Stevens (Foghat)? ETA: Looks like the bass must’ve belonged to Tony Senatore. https://www.12stringbass.net/tony-senatore-holyland I also found an instagram link — the seller recently acquired the bass at a guitar show in the Bay Area.
-
This may be obvious (trying to be helpful) but if you’re still ‘not quite there’ as far as intonating the G string you can always remove the bridge piece, reverse/rotate the piece 180 degrees on the set screw, reinstall it and re-intonate. Intonation over ‘looks’ for me (I need all I can going for me, playing-wise).
-
Is that a Carvin PU in the bridge position? ABORT!

So all that needs to happen would be for you to spend $3/day less on something for one year: beer, coffee, etc., and voila’, you own it! I think it would be hard to locate another one that clean, and it will become more difficult every year. Just trying to enable someone from the forum to purchase the guitar…. Understanding that it’s not my money to spend.
