  1. I like the part where Tom just stops "playing" to push his sleeve up.
  2. I guess the colors were interchangeable. I can't find any other pictures.
  3. I'd never seen this before. What are the little knobs for?
  4. Did it float ? She's a witch!!!
  5. WTF. Wasn't r30 like four days ago?
  6. I was a HUGE Kiss fan. Ace was the reason I started playing guitar. That said, there are a half dozen songs after 1980 that I can listen to without thinking "man, that sucks". Paul can't sing any more, Ace could NEVER sing and the two position pentatonic noodling has been passé since Eddie put a pick to strings. I've made it through about 30 seconds of Ace's new stuff. It's just painful to listen to.
  7. My guess is "the Ultimater" followed on by some young upstart claiming the "Ultimatest"
  8. And through the miracle of the innerwebs the corporate coffers of Shishkov Enterprises expand incrementally. Or, "hey fellers I just helped buy a bandsaw!"
  9. Oops sorry! I've got the correct paypal address if anyone needs it. TM
  10. Anyone got a good paypal address for Mike? The @gmail.com doesn't seem to be registered.
  11. and on the topic of the explorer shape, here's a blurb when Gibson went after those little cardboard guitars: ****** Los Angeles, CA (December 22, 2010) - Gibson Guitar Corp. was granted a request for an injunction against WOWWEE USA Inc, the makers of Paper Jamz, and its retailers, which include Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, Big Lots Stores, K Mart Corporation, Target Corporation, Toys “R” Us- Delaware Inc, Walgreen Co., Brookstone Company, Best Buy Co. Inc, eBay Inc, Toywiz Inc and HSN Inc. The initial complaint, filed by Gibson Guitar Corp. on November 18, 2010, stated that the WOWWEE USA Inc produced Paper Jamz products wrongfully copy Gibson’s famous guitars, the LES PAUL, FLYING V, EXPLORER and SG. Gibson states that they intend to remain aggressive in protecting such trademarks, as it relates to its guitar shapes and designs and that it is of the highest priority to protect a consumer’s right to purchase an authentic Gibson guitar, regardless of the form. The granted injunction indicates that Gibson Guitar Corp. would be irreparably harmed by the continued sale of the products and requires retailers to remove all included Paper Jamz models from their shelves immediately. Gibson Guitar Corporation, founded in 1994 and Incorporated in 1902, is headquartered in Nashville, TN. It is the leading maker of acoustic and electric guitars. For more information about its products, please visit gibson.com. ******* It's really pick and choose who the big corps go after, and it's going to be the high value targets for licensing.
  12. HOLY SHIT I'M IN!! just got an email from Mike. I'd pretty much resolved that I'd never have my Sunburst's partner, but now it SHALL BE DONE.
  13. Both. Dr. Z Maz 18 with a Brake Lite attenuator (amp is "crunchy" with guitar volume on 10) and then a selection of stompboxes out front to suit the need.
  14. Thanks for posting the ALIVE cover. For a millisecond I was 13 again!! I'm sitting in a room with guitars lining the walls because of that image.
  15. I stopped using gig bags when those super-light rigid cases came out.
  16. Thanks for posting and the update - it was too early on the West coast to get out of bed for "HELL for breakfast" (if you use that i want royalties). Looks like a great show you guys put on. I'd love to see you in the US, but I'll settle for one of those t-shirts in the interim!
  17. That's a bit early for we west coasters, will it be recorded?
  18. I got a lot of shit back in the 80's for liking Rod Stewart, Prince, and Duran Duran. My Iron Maiden-type mates didn't see the talent.
  19. Who knew Bob Seger was such a tool.....
  20. About a million years ago I teched for Peter while he was with Dreams So Real. Prior to that he was a regular performer with Shebang at Charley Macgruders in Atlanta. Yikes.
  21. Sad, yes, but not nearly as sad as the brand being whored out. I'd take this as a indication of our increased responsibility as caretakers of the marque.
  22. I've got a GK 250ML that I tote around for an emergency. Size of a lunch box, loud as f**k, will drive a 4x12 no problem and has a XLR out. Lacks bottom end with the stock speakers but you could beef it up through a PA. It even sounds ok.
  23. Sometime over the last 35 years the sound in my head changed. I was a strat/tele hater from the start and would not own a guitar that didn't have the mighty humbuckers. About five years ago I hocked almost everything and bought a Paul Reed Smith - which was hands down the most beautiful and well-made guitar I had ever touched - and just never fell in love. It just wouldn't make the sound in my head. Now, other than my Sunburst, my other guitars are strats and teles, and the only humbuckers are TV Jones filtertrons. Go figure.
