  1. Pretty cool! Hamer stuff like this doesn't show up often that is for sure. I had one of these way back in the day but finally gave it to a good friend who begged me for it. I had a "TONE TO THE BONE" "Hockey" jersey but it went along to the new owner when I sold my 1979 Black Hamer Sunburst. I still have the Hamer TTTB Jacket which I will be selling soon. GLWTS.
  2. Cool guitar, and I think that color is a great choice for that model. I don't know about the claim as to that model being rare I think not, maybe the color is uncommon. A guy I know has owned one in a different finish color for a long time and it is his primary guitar. This one looks to be in nice condition and has the OHS Hamer case as well. $2400.00 is an ambitious price to say the least. Looks like there is another one [Modded] in that same finish color on REVERB as well for over 2k.
  3. Yeah the old "IS IT AVAILABLE" is a clue as to the intentions of the person asking. I have used both FB Marketplace, and Craigslist and have never had any bad issues. I have to confess they have just been local pickups as I have not shipped anything for a long time now except for my kids who both now live in Florida. [I'm in Minnesota] Had my Yamaha Weddington Custom for sale or trade over at The Gear Page for months with only a couple of Inquiries, same with FBMP and Craigslist. Lots of guitars for sale everywhere so...............I'm in no hurry. Going to a guitar show here in Eagan, Mn. at the end of the month so maybe I'll get something moving there. It's a different world out there now as far as selling trading and shipping, I will buy from sellers on Ebay but I have not sold anything on there for years. Don't even get me started on REVERB, so many friends have had issues over there.
  4. Only saw The WHO once.................they played in Bloomington, Minnesota at the old MET, The Metropolitan Sports Center. It was torn down and now is the site of THE MALL OF AMERICA. They were really good, and the sound was spot on, and yes Moon was still alive at that point thrashing those drums! I think Wishbone Ash opened for them, not sure though as it was so long ago.
  5. Now you have gone ahead and done it!
  6. By God here is one listing is from 7 years ago.............but is it the same guitar?.................. Jim Beach Beach 1979 Natural | Reverb
  7. Yes that is the guy from Wooden Nickel Music Jim Beach. Thanks! Cool guitar!
  8. Rare Guitar, I have only seen 2 of them all during the time I have been here on the HFC. All maple body/neck not sure what the pickups are, it does have "Sustain Block" style of bridge. Hmmmmm.
  9. Just wondering if anyone here owned one of these....................past or present. I almost bought one but he wouldn't come down in price and it was a pretty heavy guitar at 10.5.
  10. No affiliation to the seller or the guitar............ just posting. Hamer Special zebra humbucker lp dc electric guitar | Reverb
  11. No that pickup isn't original to the guitar................like the Kahler it was an aftermarket part. PICs from the listing before I bought it.
  12. High asking prices on many guitars, not sure how many are actually selling for asking prices. Hamer prices have certainly gone up and that is a good thing as they have been very underpriced for years. The guitars of Japan, MIJ have really gone up as players looking for lower price alternatives seek out these high-quality instruments.
  13. Thank You. It is, the pickup fit the guitar pretty well I have to say, it is what was in the guitar when I purchased the guitar off EBAY. [I believe I paid $1,200 for it shipped. Kahler Trem {Pat Pending} was not stock of course but it was done well, even so it lowered the price of the guitar. Both of those guitars were really good instruments. One is now owned by another HFC member.
  14. Well I must disagree................. here are several I owned. You have heard of "BLACK HOLE SUN" haven't you? 😉😎
  15. Now you too can have that "RELIC" finish for thousands less.
  16. Try Fette Electronics in Faribault, Mn. I know them well as I live here. They sold these Marantz receivers exclusively back in the day. The sons have a collection of them that would boggle your mind. For service and repair they ARE the experts and have been in business for years. Here Fette Electronics
  17. Please don't autograph guitars.................... anywhere! That devalues the instrument and can prove to be difficult if not impossible for the next owner to remove it. I have never understood why people do this. This guitar was ridden hard and put away wet for sure.
  18. Yeah No clue on this one................not in my field of knowledge but there are some people on here who love these guitars. This does have a different color than most of these that I have seen. He can ask whatever he wants, getting it is whole different thing though. I see it's on Reverb as well.
  19. Just saw this For Sale over at The Gear Page. I have no affiliation to the guitar or the seller, just posting for anyone who might be interested. No idea if that is a good price or the rarity of the color. 1981 Hamer Prototype...killer classic in a very rare color! Here are some specs: 8.4 pounds, Neck depth is .82 at the first fret, .86 at the 12th fret. Humbucker reads 8.20k, Single coil reads 4.25k Many more pix on request These early USA Hamer guitars are just killer rock machines! $2,100 shipped (USA only) PP F+F or buyer pays the PP fee This guitar will ship in an almost new Gator gig bag.
  20. I read and liked his book as well.
  21. That is quite insane! I can't believe anyone in their right mind is going to pay that kind of cash for just a case........................but then again...................."THIS CASE IS IN INCREDIBLE SHAPE FOR BEING 31 YEARS OLD".
  22. I watched it also and thought it was well done. Norm and a few other early dealers really started the whole "VINTAGE" guitar market. Back when he was buying and selling, they were just used guitars. He had the foresight to realize that they were more than that and went on to be.....................well............. NORM.
