https://metalinjection.net/news/breakups/janes-addiction-to-take-some-time-away-as-a-group-cancels-tour Farrell has issued the following statement: "This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation." Navarro, Avery, and Perkins also issued their own statement, saying: "Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour. "Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs. "We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. "Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen."

I never understood chorus pedals. Have a very old 80's CE-1, never use it. But I found that I can adjust a weird wobbly chorus on my Supa Puss delay, like a chorus with the feeling of someone that dropped a little amount of acid. I also like to put my flanger in a kind of dirtier chorus mode. Again, sounds like the pedal is on drugs. Not a nice chorus effect, more like something David Lynch would dial in. Those chorus sounds work better for me, the ones no one else likes. Go figure.

I will never forget the red original Gibson Victory guitar in this Swedish mail order catalogue from the early 1980's. I thought the Victory looked the most like a heavy metal guitar so It was what I wanted more than any of the other models. I could look at those pages for hours. All I could afford was a Hondo Jr.

I think Steve Stevens had his best guitartone in the earlier days whey he used his plexi with a Rat pedal in front. Like on the two first Billy Idol albums. Killer, dirty obnoxious tone.

I don't think I ever tested the pedal through my JTM 50 combo. Might have been spot on.

Oh POW! Hamer fan puts PRS in his place

Just a good reason to lash out. 😅 -
There is a trim pot on the inside. I found it very sensitive. There is a sweet spot. To hot and the amp sounded like a harsh pile of transistors, the pedal messing up all that tube goodness. To low and the effect looses balls. But at the sweet spot the Storm sounded very good. Also, I did not dig the pedal with amps set at lower volumes at all. I worked best with a really cranked Marshall. Even if I had the amp at full but ran it through a Rivera Rockcrusher to get lower volume the pedal did not interact well. To my ears it needs the amp cranked.

I used one for a while. But I got tired of it's hifi-ness and that it's kinda bright. I swapped it for a Way Huge Green Rhino MK IV that integrates better with my Marshalls. It has the 100 hz and 500 hz controls that work better for me for what I want to achieve. Plus I can easily go from humbucker to a p90 with a pedal that works for both, without having to mess with the amps controls. I just dial in the hz controls on the pedal on the fly.

Who Got the Hamer Standard #0506 from Guitar Maniacs?
Disturber replied to Hamerica's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Did it sell for the asking price? I have a natural dot one exactly like that but made a hundred 4-digits before that one, (exactly), no 0406. 😵 -
This is what she said. I have a 1986 model. Sometimes it sounds great, sometimes I can't dial it in just right. But IT IS a great distortion in a box. For live, when I have had to play on borrowed amps, it's been a life saver. Best dirt box to bring if you don't know what the setup on stage will look like. It works with clean amps if you need to get it dirty. And it works with overdriven amps if you need to get them meaner and tighter. Let's say you are faced playing a Hot Rod Deluxe and need to make it sound more Marshall:esque. The RAT does the job. I've heard/seen guys with a Strat and a Fender Princeton sound absolutely fantastic with a RAT in the chain. Very versatile pedals.

We have a lot of pop music. Half of worlds greatest songwriters have been coming here since the 1990's to try and write hits with Swedish songwriters. Max Martin, Deniz Pop, Andreas Carlsson, Bloodshy, Tim "AVICII" Bergling, the list goes on with Swedish writers that topped the Billboard one hundred, with artist such as Britney Spears, Pink, Westlife, Backstreet Boys, N'sync, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Swedish Max Martin now solely has the most No. 1s among producers in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. He tallies his 24th career leader as a producer on the latest, Jan. 27, 2024-dated Hot 100, as Ariana Grande’s “Yes, And?” blasts in at No. 1. He surpasses the late George Martin – who produced 19 of The Beatles’ record 20 No. 1s – for the most leaders among producers over the chart’s 65-year archives. https://www.billboard.com/lists/max-martin-most-hot-100-number-1s-producers/

ABBA had the star guitar when they won Eurovision with Waterloo in 1974. Bootsy got his first Star Bass made in 1975. So ABBA was first. Bootsy: “The first Space Bass was made in 1975 by a guy named Larry Pless, at a place called Gus Zoppi Music in Sterling Heights, Michigan. I took a drawing in there and he was a young and up-and-coming guitar maker. Gus Zoppi Music store was an accordion store—it wasn’t even a guitar store where I found this guy. I just happened to go in there, I started talking to the owner, I asked him if he had any suggestions, and he said, ‘Yes. I’ve got a young guy that’s working for me in the back that might be interested because he’s always been wanting to make guitars.’ So that’s how I found this guy.”

Göran Malmberg is a legendary Swedish guitar builder. But not much is known about him. Not much information on the internet. He built the famous ABBA star guitar. He built a guitar for Eric Clapton and guitars for Bill Haley. He constructed his own 4x12 cabs that were used by Led Zeppelin. He built guitars for the Swedish blues musician Rolf Wikström. He also built muscle cars and became a world champion in bench press. Quite a character by all means. Here is his own web page. His english is not the best (don't make fun of him). But quite a life. I thought some of you might find this interesting. https://www.hemipanter.se/

Wild Hamers show up at GC.

I did try that too. Might have gotten a bit better. But still not even close to the fullness of a hard tail guitar. Kahler's sound better too, if installed right. Floyd guitars work if you have massive gain, and preferably a shit load of effects in the chain boosting your signal. They still sound thin, but you get the 80's sound. There are three guys with great Floyd tone though, Eddie Van Halen (up to 1984 after that not so much) , Warren De Martini. Warren uses the big block. And Prince. Difference between these guys and me? They are some of the best players ever. 😆 -
I am thinking of selling my Hamer Special in darkburst from 1993. It is a killer guitar. Light weight and very resonate. The neck is a medium C shape, pretty similar to my 1995 Korina Standard (great neck shape). This one came from the factory with P90's but it has been converted into humbuckers. Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's are in it and they sound very PAF like. A little buckle wear on the back, nothing through the finish. Other than that it's in great condition. Original hardware and it comes with a Hamer hardcase. Sticker on the back of the headstock from a music store in Langley, USA. 🌩️ I had the guitar in for crowning of the frets and a full set up last summer. I have had this guitar down at our rehersal place, so it has not had that much play time since the frets where levelled. I bought this one to have as my live guitar. Our band is now on hiatus, guess that's life.... But I have done three, four shows with it. Excellent live guitar. I am thinking 1100 Euros plus shipping. I prefer to ship it within the EU. But if you are somewhere else, lets talk about it. Send pm if interested.

Finally found a good place to practice
Disturber replied to bry4321's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I was working with a good band in the early 2000's and I was looking for gigs for them. I found a company that was having a big party event and I convinced them that we should put the band in their garage, just like yours, and they did the gig there. It was a metal band so it got pretty intense. Perhaps not the best place for great sound, but the garage sure had the right vibe for a killer rock show. -
⬆️ This.I never pleked any of my guitars. I have two great guitar repairmen/luthiers that I have used. I feel much more comfortable with someone who really knows what he is doing (and takes great pride in it) working on my guitars than a computerised machine. It's like shopping at a mom and pops store, someone has put a long time in to learning their skill. I rather support that, and I hope that they pass on their knowledge down the line. I have had three guitars re-fretted over the years. All perfectly done and they came back like new. I've had all my guitars profesionally set up and the frets dressed or crowned/levelled. I could not be happier with what I got back in to my hands from the luthier. I doubt a plek machine would have done it any better. Plus I can't talk guitars a plek machine.
