  1. I like Supertramp. Really.
  2. email sent...you're so generous. This will start more PIF just watch and see! Thanks for getting the ball rolling. Plus, I need to send you some wine and homebrew for the hot sauce you sent me a year or two ago.
  3. Steve, That is so good to hear!! As I get older I 've come to appreciate just how important our health is and what a blessing good health is. If there is a strap left and a pot I could use 'em. If not , that's cool.
  4. What's Mr. Noonan's indigo duotone look like? pics?
  5. Hey, if you want to make a quick $50 and turn that around real fast you know who to email!!
  6. Please post those cali pics when you can - thanks!
  7. Rob from Valvetech explained it to me once but I always forget this stuff....Please explain the Post phase inverter idfference. What were the Valvetech amps? Did the original version start out one way and then he switched it? Thanks for the education!!
  8. I just saw Bart Walsh tonight giving a Gibson (!!) guitar clinic at a local music store. He was w/ the Atomic Punks (big VH tribute band) and also toured w/ DLR for 3 years amongst other things. Anyway, he said that all Gibsons are still nitro-cellulose laquer. When did Hamer switch from this finish and why? Was it quality control - easier to get a more consistant finish with what they're using now? What are they using now anyway? He said all Gibson had one piece necks. Did the earlier Hamers have one piece necks? Don't most of the new ones have 3 piece necks for more stability?
  9. Somebody buy it - plus M-star's good ppl! It's the sis of mine (except I swapped my sd out for a Dimarzio single hummer after this pic);
  10. cool upside down Hamer post link I also saw he auctioned off a Duotone too awhile back. I'm prety sure he had others as well.
  11. Anyone know why they stopped playing Hamers like they use to? Was it just plain old endorsement stuff (AKA someone, Yamaha, kissed their butt) ?
  12. It is. JK Thanks again for Mobster for setting me up with that one! It's basically my number one (when my set-neck Chap isn't!) - very versatile. I am super -picky about tone. I love great clean sounds so the stock APS 's work for me in the mid/neck but I'm also an old school metal > modern rock > progressive rock guy so I needs my distortion fix as well! This gives it to me AND I love how it cleans up by rolling off the volume. The SD Hot Rails sounded too gritty to me (as Bill Altman said it might). So, this one's just right for me.
  13. hmmm, I like the APS-1's in the neck and mid so far. I tried some Bill Lawrence singles in there and went back to the APs's. YMMV Key of Z, Is that a pic of your Daytona w/ a FT2 in the bridge. I can't tell for sure because it's so small. Here's a pic of my Daytona w/ FT@2;
  14. Ilove my Dimarzio Fast Track 2. It really rocks! It has more of a warm sound (like a real humbucker) than the harsh sounding hot rails - to me anyway. It also dials down really nice. I was seriously ready to route out my Daytona for a real humbucker until I tried this one.
  15. ///////////////even in todays "modern" silicon dominated world//// Sir D, isn't that where Chris works?!
  16. There you go Dave....Mark Reale!! I was really into Riot back when they had Narita, Fire Down Under etc. Great rock songs.
  17. You guys have all said it very well so far. For me, my "Megadeath-type" experience was when I first heard Deep Purple. I remember going "man that doesn't sound like The Carpenters"! Later, I had similar experiences when I heard Neil Schone of Journey (very melodic), Pat Benatar "Heartbreaker" (Neil Geraldo rocks), EVH, Michael Schenker, Mathias Jabs, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie and Wolf Hoffman of accept. The next guy to really blow me away after that was Steve Morse and John Pretucci. OK, here's where I share a personal story that I may regret later! When I first heard the Pat Benatar song I was in my room making a speaker.... out of a wood frame covered with sheetrock in the shape of a monitor! It had a car speaker in it. I made it so my GE clock radio would RAWK Harder!! It actually worked ok!!!
  18. I like Lynch a lot but, to me anyway, that was more wankin' than spankin'! I enjoyed Eddie's clips earlier much better. Of course, Eddie's bandmates were better than what George had here.
  19. "School of Rock part 2"...starring Kevin!!!!! That's just too cool, man!!
  20. I took my 13 year old daughter (my little rocker!) out to dinner last night. She was telling me how Eddie and Valerie were getting divorced. I told her of his cancer, drinking etc. We talked about Sammy/DLR etc. I come home and Greg posts this cool concert. I showed her his solo and a few things and told her that was mainly what I wanted to show her (thinking that was about all she could handle of her old mans stuff) but she insisted on watching more! So, we watched over half of it together! I told her how ccol it was to have a great daughter like that who could appreciate new stuff, old stuff, whatever. I told her that good music is timeless. That you don't listen to a Classical piece and say, " Well, it was pretty good, for some old song ". It's either good music or it isn't as long as it speaks to the person listening.
  21. Reply to Richdie about him surviving a nuclear holocaust and typing on a computer...something like..."So, as I was saying, I distinctly hear a better tone when using Gibson guitar polish than when using GHS. How about you?" That big April Fools Day joke with Joe (and Greg?...I forget)...when many ppl were duped into heartfelt responses to a fellow HFC brothers tragedy. inner circle/outer circle
  22. Yo pirate....Yeah, but when she's hanging upside down they look quite natural!
  23. I think that's Hardhearted Bill's Mirage!!
  24. some stuff free... some paid for...killer hot sauce /strap locks from Phoenix Steve, good deals from HHB and Morningstar, my favorite blue Ash Daytona and great Toyota advice from Mobster, incredible advice from Toby for my daughters taking the SAT, awesome Scorpions tour stuff from bay area Rob (it's been awhile and I can't remember exactly - sorry), Peter for laying off a couple Hamers that he could have outbid me on, Rodney (jettster) and Kevin (Jack Butler) for a good time, whoever I got my Duotone from (it's been awhile and I can't remember exactly - sorry), and great advice from about everyone for about everything!! Doh!! didn't really read the original post, sorry, there's some gear in there too!
  25. I've had my Rocktron Multivalve multi FX rack unit for many years. I've never been tempted to switch...yet! It's like a Replifex but with a 12ax7 tube you can run the signal through to warm up the signal (it actually works). I need to swap out the tube and see how it changes things. I haven't yet because they put that white/clear silicone goop all over it so it makes it hard to get out!
