  1. EDIT to say I do love the tune Wiser Days
  2. Casual fan here, too. I recognize 8 tunes in the list, all old. The wall of non matching amps is not a good look, esp w/ empty cabs and Marshall MG heads, what's the point? Gormans book was a great read, he tells a good story, and the bros come off like real dicks in it.
  3. Years ago I had some alnico 12" from an organ that sounded great, I shoulda kept it.
  4. Thx for posting. Whata great version of Tunisia by Bud Powell! Funny to se Medeski Martin & Wood amongst all these trad jazzers.
  5. Got my BEAT tix for Oct 2! Made this playlist to school my pals who are going but aren't that familiar w/ the tunes;
  6. Just saw this on FB
  7. I guy I knew in Tx has a tube head version that was excellent.
  8. ...& Peavey Butcher too. Also the Peavey Classic 20 head I had was great. Studio Pro is a good SS Peavey.
  9. I week into '24 and I'm OUT (see Robs Ibanez thread)
  10. I have 6 and aim to sell 1 or 2. Might pull the trigger on a Warmoth body to go on my partscaster, making it 100% Warmoth.
  11. I saw Mike w/ Dethklok;
  12. Roth's playing is fantastic, I wore out Tokyo Tapes & Virgin Killer as a kid. I later bought a few UJR solo albums that were unlistenable. Another guy like Yngwie, Vai etc who greatly benefits from a collaboration songwriting situation.
  13. Shawn Lane's stuff is hit or miss for me, but ran across this recently, which is pretty damn ccol; The album I watched Charlie Hunter record live in 2018 came out in November; Read Rob Halfords CONFESS!, which sent me down a JP rabbit hole;
  14. Tal is from right here in Greensboro NC
  15. Went down an early era RHCP rabbit hole this week, I was obsessed with their punk funk 80s albums back in college.
  16. Just read Cowboy Song; Phil was mad about Robbo's no show and wasn't going to let him participate at all. It was Gorham who convinced him to let Robbo in at the end and dub a few solos.
  17. Brooks Sat, Dec 19, 2020, 8:22 AM to kiz Keeping w/ the VOL 4 theme, I recorded this V4 classic live in the jam room this week w/ one of those handheld Tascam things w/ the built in mics. Guitar was my pal Dave's Echotone w/ GFS pups, run thru a Pod Go into the power section of a Quilter 101 feeding a 1x12 Creamback loaded cab. I'm also on vocals, Kolton from Generic Hustle is on bass, with new guy Donovan on drums. EDIT - We've been getting together for fun a few times a month since October, kicking around some Sabs/Mountain/ZZ Top/Thin Lizzy/Metallica/Rick Springfield, etc
  18. Ya know, Kiz asked if I liked the new cover, I thought it was "the Victim", I completely forgot about that pic, haha
  19. Glad you liked it. My fave is The Church Within. Even better IMFO is the Spirit Caravan compilation The Last Embrace. I think Wino shoots himself in the foot by changing the name of the band each time he swaps up rhythm sections, as he's the main man (Vocals, guitar, songwriter).
