In my area (SF Bay) when they respond to you its a variation on "I'm moving to (or have a gig) in Chicago but I can work out a quick and easy sale and ship it to you." Not sure why they use Chicago, but I've seen it at least five or more times. I just flag the ad and move on. I have a buddy who likes to mess with them and ask obviously stupid questions to see where they'll fall apart. (Ex: does it have the original ELZ2084 tubes? How is the polarity on the transformer?) He has more time on his hands than I do.

I'm just glad he's wearing safety goggles to prevent himself from poking an eye out with one of those uncut string ends darting around on the headstock!

This guy often has a bunch of great instruments for sale in the bay area here, but he's always... shall we say, optimistically priced?

Someone overshot their drill depth as they were drilling the pin holes for the Sperzels that are on there. That would be my guess anyway, given the position.

Lifeson is one of my favorite guitarists and writers, not to mention he's funny as hell. And I've got a bunch of Godin guitars and love them all. But: 4K is a bit much for a guitar that they'd only charge $2500 (max) for before Alex's name is on it. And if the guitar is called Grace (from the record Grace under Pressure), why are the guys doing the demo playing La Villa Strangiato?!? And fer 4K, I want a matching F-ing headstock! ...OK, minor rant o'er.

Seems like a winner, even with the head stock issue. Then again, more than a few of the Hamers I've owned have had a head stock crack and lived to tell the tale.

That Kahler repair is so less than great, it makes me want to put a Kahler back on it!
