  1. One heck of a nice guy who came to the rescue on a recent WTB post. Can't say enough about how friendly, co-operative and accommodating a guy Steve truly is (a personal thanks to you, good sir!). HFC is THE best enthusiast board on the net because it's inhabited by so many quality people like cynic.
  2. Now playing on the Comedy Network "John of Arc"...
  3. Bitchin' CM! Know anything of the history on this one?
  4. Hunter looked amazing in this video - years have been kind to him.
  5. +1 Avalon was the closest thing to a musical aphrodisiac I could think of. Guess chicks dig (dug?) Roxy Music...
  6. +1 on the tuners. Great thing about the Tonepros Klusons is that they have a version for the big holes. Jay slipped a pair of these into my SG Jr after replacing the Grovers and I've really been digging 'em - light, precise, nice vintage vibe also. I've always been a fan of "meaty" tuners, but the TP Klusons have me rethinking this.
  7. +1 Wondering what I can send Jay next...
  8. Wow - just incredible! Great vision G Man and perfect execution Jay. Was excited to see this one come to life and it didn't disappoint
  9. Welcome to the HFC fellow Canuckistani - good to have you on board! Whatever you do, bring your sense de ha ha when you log in here - it gets thick sometimes. Gratuitous gear pics (and those of the occasional scantily clad member of the opposite sex) are generally well received here.
  10. Liz Hurley would most assuredly approve of that SG...
  11. I dig that red - gonna be unique for an SG.
  12. If you do, don't hesitate to put one in Jay's able hands - you won't regret it. The setup he did on my SG Jr is scary good - sounds way better than a guitar like that should! I asked if he could make a Maestro Vibrola "work" and he delivered in spades - very stable and sounds incredible to boot. He did all kinds of cool detail work without being asked - lots of small tricks he's picked up from years of experience working on Gibbies, Hamers, etc. in the sole pursuit of making 'em sound/play great. Still can't figure out how he made a P90 Jr sound as quiet as my 'bucker-equipped guits (he won't tell...), but I'm playin' the shit outta it now I tell you! And yah - he's not too shabby in the refinishing dept. either.
  13. Check the guitar face at 3:50-3:58 (first vid) - looks just like the guppies I had when I was a kid...
  14. busted with his own camera... Guess we know what keeps ole' Jay putting in the hours in the shop, huh?
  15. Made popcorn to watch this thread while I wait for SG Jr to arrive... Can't wait to see all these projects flesh out - so many cool ones! (Jay won't get bored there). kizanski - start working on those jumps and flying scissors
  16. Now the real fun stuff comes into NTL. You'd almost think Mardi Gras was coming up instead of Christmas. Not too many boring days at the shop there Jay. Makes ya wonder what's gonna come along next...
  17. I'm not familiar with the TLE. Why is there what appears to be a left hand tremolo on the guitar? I'd guess it's a JLV design parameter. SRV preferred a left-hand trem on his #1 guitar also.
  18. When I first read this, I thought you were gonna start swinging your guitar , then I read the "wiring cavity" - phew.... Seriously, this looks a lot better already. Hope you get it exactly the way you want it and wow the Nashvegas circuit with this fine ax.
  19. Kickass work ma' man! Mad skills indeedy... Can't wait to see the Sunburst and Blitz finished also.
  20. Sorry Zorrow, I quite like that Blitz with the paddle headstock - color combo is bodacious. +1 on the Scarab for butt ugliness, however.
  21. With all that work you might just be the Grinch who stole Murkat's Christmas, Tobe! Just shittin' ya man - sure Jay appreciates your fine support. After all, the man's gotta retire someday (and pay for all that "NTL hideaway" beer ).
  22. Jr's looking wicked Jay!! Cure nitro, cure...
  23. Logsdon Audio custom power supply with isolated (in two groups) 9V, 18V and 24V supplies and quiet power cords. $100 shipping included.
  24. Have a great day DavidE!
  25. Sorry svl - I claimed dibs on this one a long time ago...
