  1. Jol wanted to do what Jol wanted to do. Rarely was it about what the customer wanted. He claimed credit for things that he did not do. He made Hamer his personal "custom shop" that refused to build a lot of easily produced guitars (that customers were begging to give deposits for). He coined the term "too obvious", the meaning of which nobody has ever figured out. He did some great stuff when it suited him, but only when it suited him.
  2. Vector #72 is the best Vector ever. If the music business were in better shape, I would still own it.
  3. Good. The ONLY reason that I didn't buy that....
  4. Late to the party but dressed up anyways! HBD, BMF.
  5. There one VERY FAIRLY priced available right now.
  6. Obviously, it died. Travis, call me and I will hook you up.
  7. OOPS! That was Tonejunkee's. I made his up to be identical to mine, hence the guard.
  8. That's my personal one. I never should have sold it.
  9. I haven't heard of anyone getting shocked in 20+ years, regardless of the guitar.
  10. You can have whatever you want in that guitar, since they are made one at a time. I am thinking that a three humbucker Tele sounds cool.......
  11. My KIDS gave me that shirt, fella....
  12. I love the shielded wire. If there was ever a guitar that didn't need shielded wire....this is it!
  13. Update: I love it MORE than I did when I last posted. The tones are killer, the workmanship stellar and EVERYONE that sees it is fascinated. The biggest response to the appearance is "I thought it was grooved, but it's smooth!" Then they play it. "Killer neck", "Wow, it's so easy to play" and "All the pickup settings WORK!" are typical responses when the guitar is handed over. We have an expression...when folks(especially doubters) play the guitar, they get the "Liquid Metal Smile"...an expression that is somewhat akin to suddenly getting a private joke. And the inside is as cool as the outside.... Turns out that when Seymour winds the pickups just for these guitars, he puts in the "Jeff Beck Tap".... so I will be adding a push/pull tone pot to use that feature soon. I still hate Teles, just not THIS one.
  14. Jol's gone, so almost anything is possible now. It comes down to how much you want to spend to get what you want. No corksniffing firewall anymore.
  15. What's the deposit? 50% And are all six going to be the same color, or is there a choice between the ones listed? Any of the three colors listed Oh, and what's the neck carve? Vintage And if you don't get 6 deposits are they refundable or applicable towards other items? Transferrable. I want one of these, and would love to see this happen. Hamer is making it possible for US to do this, and I want to see Hamer continue. This is a spec guitar at a price that I am not making a profit on when it's all said and done(all the effort that I have put into it has not been paid for). If you would like to do a custom order, you can do whatever you want. I would love to do that for you, no problem.
  16. Single pickup guitars are more expensive. The neck pickup route is part of the basic route, as is the third control hole. Different shapes require different handling, therefore upcharges.
  17. Last night, as I was shutting down....... This morning, the sun FINALLY came out.....
  18. Well, it's wired up with new Hamer pots.... ..and the original rosewood shim is back under the bridge.... So after making a new truss rod cover, and final assembly, here is the completed guitar....(drum roll)...... The Rio Grande Barbeque and Genuine Texas sound KILLER in this bad boy. I tried to buy it from Tim, but he isn't selling!
  19. This thread DIED as soon as I put effort into it. Oh, well.
  20. If it weren't raining cats and dogs, right now.......
