  1. I just bought a mini desktop (Lenovo) on eBay. Believe it was a factory refurb but they gave you a choice to configure it. Plenty of usb ports. I got 4tb and 32gb ram for $250 Delivered with a good 30 day return policy where they send you a shipping label. Got a nice open box monitor on amazon. It works great. Edit. Just went back and checked. 500gb hard drive and 8gb ram is like $125 Del. 1 year warranty. I had also bought an all in one but I decided it wasn’t upgradable enough and returned it (they provided a label and refunded me the day they recieved it) it was a nice pc They both looked brand new to me. I can get you links to the sellers if need be. Edit. Added I got this one It’s working great and looked new to me. I suspect these might be mfg overstock rather than refurbs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/286065129757 This seller I returned the item but they were good to deal with https://www.ebay.com/itm/156278765337?epid=6069198558&itmmeta=01JDQ2ENQ3QRPRTVPEXB4P1KZ0&hash=item2462f0b719:g:GwgAAOSw-bJmfzMo
  2. I have a laser engraved hamer coaster made of Ultimate grade flame maple that I reckon is worth $600. But I love it too much. But I think I have a black Hamer cd case that’s gotta be worth 9 hundy. I’d part with that. And you can keep the backup cd’s of windows ‘95 and a cd rom full of pics from the last Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl parade! Edit: I’m just joking because my team is the worst team in football
  3. Thank you, I had GC rewards bucks to use up and the 10 pack of daddarios was a solid deal.
  4. Unless my math sucks I think $72 was the US dollar equivalent to what was in his ad. But yeah That’s still nuts.
  5. $72 to ship 2 Allen wrenches, a key and a plastic baggy. What a cheeky old sod!
  6. I had a set of hot Duane's but never ended up using them, would have liked to check them out.
  7. Ox4 Ed King Redeye set, vintage hot wind 7.7 bridge 7.3 neck pole pieces are lightly aged from use, these have nice cut and articulation, they probably would look nice in a Hamer... leads are nicely sized for a good fit in a les paul. Love the pickups just don't have a home for them. $235 firm paypal friends and family delivered in the US
  8. Love jazz basses. For some reason I like large necks on guitars but slimmer necks on basses. Ditto on mismatched sizes on jazz bass pickups. Aaargghh.
  9. The Musikraft site has some really good detail about various neck carves. I believe my korina artist is about .90 at the first but I will recheck. Hamer definitely thickened them up between 93 and the 2000's...
  10. so, I've posted about this over the years a few times... My first concert ever was Judas Priest at the Orpheum Theater in Boston 7/28/81... Somehow I got first row balcony center tickets... and it was an old timey theater so the balcony was really close to the stage... I had no idea who Iron Maiden was, although I had a friend who had cable who told me there's a song called Wrathchild on Mtv and they were cool... I was not prepared for the face ripping that I was about to witness. The Ides of March started, they had roadies with Eddie masks shooting off fire extinguishers and smoke... I remember they played, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Wratchild, Remember Tommorrow, Phantom of the opera, Running free, killers and wratchild... pretty decent set The next day I ran out and picked up Killers which remained on my turntable for the rest of the summer. Didn't get much better than Ides of March into Wratchild into Murders in the Rue Morgue... They were my favorite band for the next couple years... Don't get me wrong NOTB is stellar, but Maiden lost me when they started doing galloping history lessons about the pyramids and 12 minute opuses such as Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner... Seems like he lived a hard life... I remember him smoking butts on stage and I'm thinkin the dude really needed a smoke but other than that he was great. I also think that based on the show I was at that Maiden was giving Priest (point of entry tour) a run for their money. They certainly picked it up a notch when they recorded Screaming for Vengeance. was shocked when they dumped Paul (and Clive Burr) but I do get it... RIP Paul... BTW: one of my favorite Pod of Thunder episodes where they discuss Murders in the Rue Morgue... Chris gives some excellent advice and said if you see a dead body just keep walkin cos who needs that aggravation. They also discuss whether Steve Harris was trying to improve upon Poe. lol
  11. Thankfully, our place is about 5 miles inland and not in a low lying area, but still... the one two years ago caused alot of damage in our neighborhood (Venice, just South of Sarasota). I wish everyone well. edit: Sarasota County telling people to evacuate if in flood zone A or B ((edit C now added in Sarasota County). Know Your Zone (arcgis.com)
  12. So, if you are still interested it looks like GC has them for $59 (I didn't see the listing, hopefully, this is the one you are talking about) Perri's 24" Black and White Checkered Bar Stool | Guitar Center I'm pretty sure GC has free delivery if you have it shipped to your local branch, not sure if there's a charge if they ship to your home.
  13. I'll bet it's overstock. I remember when they blew out the USA pro mods dirt cheap ($500-600) back in the 2010's I seem to recall people keeping the necks and parting out the rest.
  14. nicely done... really like that whiskey barrell looking top... rock n roll
  15. some pretty cool interviews and anecdotes... there are three episodes. It's on Paramount Plus so you can probably get the free trial and knock this and the making of the Godfather docuseries before your week is up. or just watch on you tube...
  16. This is one of the cooler Eclipses I've seen. I know they've done a few with hums and years ago and I once owned one with a flame top (minibuckers)... Love the choice of going direct mount with the hums.
  17. Hi, some pickups in the Vintage/Vintage hot variety all pretty cool 1) Wolfetone Legends: SOLD 2) OX4 Hot Duane's clean double black long leads, aged nickel covers (if you need me to age the pole piece screws and solder the covers, will be happy too) never tried these but I've heard people rave about these 10-11" leads on each $225 paypal f/f delivered 3) Duncan Slash Bridge zebra (black on screw coil so I believe it's known as reverse zebra for Duncan) 8.74 7" lead $65 paypal f/f del 4) Duncan alnico pro II zebra (aka reverse zebra, black on screw coil) 4c, this has a shorter lead for a neck 9" so may require a splice. priced accordingly SOLD 1) 2) 3) 4)
  18. ughh... I'm having bad flashbacks to 1979 and everyone is wearing Levi's but your mom got you Toughskins!
  19. yes, I called into Hamer at the time and spoke to Jim Allen, I remember that date was my wedding anniversary, my first one... lol. at the time, I thought it had what looked like the original case...
  20. Mine was a japanese guitar that I bought off a friend for $10. My first real guitar was a Hondo II black les paul custom... $120.00 Just like the one Glenn Tipton was playing on the back of Hell Bent for Leather. I soon broke the headstock off it but epoxied it back together.
  21. Pics of the Hamer Korina Artist from Replay Guitar in Tampa. very clean... it was almost like the glory days of the late 90's and early 2000's when you could pick up clean Hamers for a reasonable deal... some light fretwear, but no dings or chips at all... case is pretty clean too.. Replay double boxed and had one of the nicer packing jobs I've seen... I've kind of moved on to Gibson but this reminds me of Hamer's stellar work... this design is one of Jol's best accomplishments. correct bell knobs and Dunlop strap buttons on the way... plays and sounds great. dig it. Thanks again Gene...
  22. I am pretty sure I owned that guitar in the 90's. If it's the same one, I think the original ship date was 8/28/81 or 82? I found it for $225 in the Want Advertiser (a print version of craigslist or the recycler in the Boston area) I later sold it for $350... I made bank! not... one of my many stupid moves to come. I despised the kahler so much (it had a wierd black plate to cover the stop tail holes), it just ruined it for me This was a couple years before the HFC. Had I known, I would have gone with a nice veneer with vintage correct curly maple rather than a patch... I remember there was alot of chipping at the headstock where the kahler nut was, I will say it looks alot better than it used to...
  23. Good god, these prices, but I must say, that's a pretty cool one...
  24. Thank you Gene, mint with hums I'm told... I owe you a couple beers next time I'm down there.
  25. Tampa Bay Bucs?
