  1. I like em... nice neck profiles (fuller than the 93 specials) low key, cut thru the mix, but nice output, they rock....
  2. $4000 would be pushing it. kind of cool but doesn't seem to be significant in terms of use by rick, gbase is always good for insane pricing, I get that vibe to a lesser extent from reverb too.
  3. If you don't like to see this crap, scroll down and hit "report item" and a dropdown item will appear choose "copyright infringing" and then choose "counterfeit"
  4. yes, and have built my own wiring harnesses as well. but I'm not a serial swapper, I don't pay $300 for a pair of boutiques and won't pay $25 for a bumble bee cap. (fave is probably the SD alnico pro II in reverse zebra, which can be had fairly reasonably) and having working in the electronics industry for a bit, I kind of have a skeptical eye towards the amount of new old stock stuff that seems to be never ending.
  5. from last summer. most of the value in the deal is from the real estate. http://nypost.com/2013/08/03/new-york-times-sells-boston-globe-for-93-percent-loss/
  6. Until the Shiskov arrives
  7. the snark is a really weak design (the clip with the prongs that house the ball) 50 cent molded part, they should be replacing them for free
  8. I had thought that Jimmy Page had gotten all that music by summoning THE DEVIL but after listening to that clip, am kind of thinkin he nicked that part.
  9. I understand that some of the 2012 historics had laminated boards, I had a 2012 std premium plus (killer top) that had one, I believe you could see it if the nut was removed but... however you can contact Gibson customer service with the serial # and they can tell you. had no problem selling it. but back to the thread... if the guy is assigning an $1850 value to a Monaco III, I think he'll be challenged getting something actually valued at that number in trade...
  10. I so want it... but my ex wife (son's mom) got rid of all my vinyl and my bose 6.2 speakers... and a lot of other cool crap that I probably forgot about...
  11. oh good... Phil Lynott is on there, I would have rioted otherwise... lol
  12. nice, that logo looks great. Mike, I think you will be busy for a looooooong time.
  13. dualing shiskov threads, I'm in... trolling ebay for some finish ideas, looking at some sort of trans (amber?) finish, but a little lighter than Hamer's aztec gold. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Gibson-Les-Paul-Supreme-Trans-Amber-Flametop-Custom-Super-400-Inays-/181435919422?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a3e6c6c3e http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-PRS-PAUL-REED-SMITH-CUSTOM-VINTAGE-YELLOW-BIRDS-/251576584058?pt=Guitar&hash=item3a9322077a pale yellow? cool subtle tint http://www.ebay.com/itm/Paul-Reed-Smith-PRS-Private-Stock-3864-SC-245-Pale-Yellow-/321425525908?pt=Guitar&hash=item4ad6744c94 always thought nighthawks were ugly but had cool finishes and tops, this color might work http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-USA-Gibson-20th-Anniv-Nighthawk-BODY-NECK-Guitar-AAA-Flame-Top-Natural-/190974892961?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2c76fd9ba1
  14. reverb was selling these at the end of the year for a buck and are now a whopping $3, still a deal. they work, replaced my snark which broke after a month, https://reverb.com/item/45234-reverb-clip-on-tuner-limit-1
  15. pricing confirmed... payment sent. ordering an amber/natural flametop, bound and crowned, grover tuners, ideally creme humbucker (bridge) zebra (rhythm). Dimarzio's are cool but if mike has something else in mind will trust his judgement. was going to go bound headstock but slept on it and decided unbound. although that might be a great option on something like black... pricing on the upgrades were pretty reasonable, had my eye on a nice amber or natural flametop for a while, should be arriving a little before my 50th birthday. was told by Mike, that the tops will be nice.
  16. quote received (vintage natural) and wanted to proceed but had one question and my email reply bounced, also, doesn't seem to be directions for paypal in the quote. (quote refers to paypal as well)
  17. it does look good, the city name on the setlist was a nice touch,
  18. quote submitted, very interested in a flametop standard in vintage amber where is the shop going to be located? CT or?
  19. click on used, then search hamer... the click thru to the 2nd page of results. it's near the end that said, always best to call the store to verify availability. just sayin SEMI/AE ARCH TOP 25th anniversary artist Used hamer 1998 25th anniversary artist Red Hol also, check the GC site for the promo on gift cards. for every $50 you spend on gift cards you get a bonus $10 to use 6/16 thru 6/29... I had something on layaway and I bought the balance of what I owned in gift cards, and I got $10 for every $50 on something I was going to buy anyway.
  20. currently not showing on used site, but was there as of late yesterday. ask for description (supposedly came with case) as I didn't see a shot.
  21. very nice... good luck with it
  22. My God, Maiden was incredibly tight back then. It says a lot about the impact of high-dollar studio production that Maiden's early live sound was nearly identical to their frugally-produced studio recordings. They have always been the consummate live band and their chops are solid on this vid from '82. Thanks for posting it. I saw Maiden opening for Priest on the Point of Entry/Killers tour... and they came out relatively unknown (it was Boston, so no airplay at all) and they blew the roof off of the Orpheum theatre. and if that wasn't rock and roll enough, paul dianno was smoking butts on stage. nice!! I still believe that having to play after a hungry upstart maiden helped priest pick up their game as the next year they did screaming for vengeance which was a pretty solid slab.
