Nice bass! I liked the natural one w/maple fb that was for sale. An accurate straightedge is essential to setting up double-tr Rics. The hard part is balancing each rod to a good zero point. I use a fine-point Sharpie to mark the nut and duplicate each adjustment so that the marks are in the same location. Interesting how Rickenbacker went with the Hipshot 4000-series bridge. The best upgrade you can get for any Ric bass.

Got that in my inbox, too. The tour plays Shoreline in Mountain View. Great triple bill, but Iāve seen them all multiple times and I H.A.T.E. seeing shows at Shoreline. -

New Fenders being discounted at Daveās

They do. I put one on my ProtoII. ETA: I recently did some maintenance on my ProtoIi. I dealt with Gary Kahler via email and he was very accommodating. Kahler has some new products coming up and the word is the Spyder tremolo is coming back. -

Gibsons are played from the balls. Fenders from the gut. -
That second one was hard to watch. The editing was so jumpy. Seemed very thrown-together.

Doubtful. It's common in retail to put sale prices on overstocked items. -

Kahler flat-mounts are, when properly adjusted/maintained, great trems. The bar action is somewhere between a Bigsby and an OFR. They stay in tune and donāt pitch forward when bending strings. I did a complete teardown/rebuild of my Proto II trem, and it works great. Iām a fan. -
I thought the owner of DW drums purchased Ovation about 10yrs ago and rebooted the New Hartford shop with much of the old crew?

Thatās a really nice example. Unmolested, with original case. Both of my Protos (I and lI) hovered around the $1.4-1.5k mark a few years ago. Looks like they were inadvertently good investments! -
7.25ā fingerboard radius: No biggee or WTF/ PITA?
RobB replied to topekatj's question in Ask the HFC Experts
I had a 50th Anniversary Tele refretted with Jescar 6150s and PLEKKED. Super-low action, and buzz-free everywhere. Any 7-1/4ā board can made to play with low action with proper fret leveling/crowning, be it traditionally or computer-assisted. -
All of the SoCal Towers had shrinkwrap machines. If the return had a receipt and wasnāt TOO damaged, back in the bins it went.
