The First Tone That Made You Say... "Whoa!"
Bruiser Brody replied to Hamerhack's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
There's too many for me. Depends on the genre of music for too. Here's a few For Rock Jimi EVH Angus Jeff Beck (rock and fusion really) Gary Moore Sykes For Metal Pantera Metallica Acoustic Tommy E Blues SRV "Little Wing" and pretty much everything else he did. He had great tone for what he played. -
(sung to a typical c/w groove) Well the first time I met Dixie was in a parkin' lot in Austin I was sittin' in my pickup all alone She walked out the Wal Mart and took one look at my truck And asked me if I'd like to take her home She said she had a new place but we went by her old place 'cause she said there's somethin' she forgot to do Well one hug and one kiss later..she unplugged her 'fridgerator That's when I knew I was helpin' Dixie move... -Jim Stafford sometime in the '70s

Killer Bruce! I would love to have seen Montrose back then (same w/ Zep, Sab, RS) The Mule and Drive By Truckers was a good pairing.

Exactly my point! Are people like that reading Rolling Stone? + a million. That's why I'm shocked a player like Trucks would even make the cover. I guess I'm surprised any real player would make the cover of that pos mag anyway. + another million on Bonamossa.

+ 1 That dude is awesome. Covers every style and is one of the best. He's most definitely in the top 10 of players I'd like to jam with. I'm sure his resume is incredible. Gotta also add Redd Volkaert (well..he's not new but neither is Brent--ha Redd makes the list anyway outta principle) and those two young guitar players from Avenged Sevenfold for the metal crowd. Mayer is a lame and safe choice for RS to sell some mags..but good on 'em for throwing Derek Trucks in there. John Fruisuicopjkyuiououcate (sp?ha) is a great player.

Happy Bday fellas..and on a Friday too!!! -
Yeah..Sharon makes $$ off ALL the bands who play that fest. Sure, it's publicity for the acts but $35K-$100K+ just play that thing is a joke. As for the merch sales, I remember watching Stern a few years ago and he had the Inane Assclowns on and they were pissed off because Sharon through 'em off the tour that year because she wasn't making enough money off their merch sales. Stern called her up and those dudes let her have it!!ha

AHAHA!!! Poor DLR is going to have to put up with THREE Van Halen's now. How many shows will they do before it falls apart or will it implode during the first rehearsal and the whole thing is canceled!ha Edited cause Dr. Kelso told me to.

Play whatever ya want. Who cares what anybody else thinks.

The original Slayer is still going strong after 25+ years. Edited to add: they did change drummers but have had Lombardo back for abit now. Metal!

Yep..box in a box. I shipped a gigantic Dean ML this way (also the way I originally got it from Dean). It arrived in Canada w/o a scratch. -

Ever notice that most of the 'women' that attend open mic/blues jams at the bars look like the lead singer of Korn? Not a pretty sight.
-
Beatallica - A Garage Dayz Night - all the tunes might still be a free download at beatallica.com - killer McTallica/Beatles parody. Tommy Emmanuel - The Mystery - not his best but there are some killer tunes on it..AND I see him play tomorrow night! Can't Wait! Wes Montgomery, Sco, Charlie Hunter - 3 mix CDs Brooks gave me a long time ago. Cool chit. Stephen Bennet - 'Everything Under the Sun'. Great fingerpicker and harp guitarist. Also his Beatles solo guitar CD is incredible. Edited to add: Timmons newest 'Resolution'..a totally listenable rawk instrumental disc..wow. Has a raw, live feel. Good'un.

HA! Beat me to it! I watched this last night and saw her sitting w/ the group and recognized the tats..kinda wild she's doing this show. Yep, she's good. My buddy Darryl played bass for her in Sister Seven aka Little Sister. They had a recording deal and went around the world at one time.

I always liked Alpeps stories about 'BIMS'!! I love that shit. Also Ed and the Junkster's responses to the spiderman pajamas, guitar wizard, steve stevens worshipper were classic...for a guitar internet message board...whatever that means. Bring the spiderman suit guy back..Ed and whoever can fight...Greg and Alpeps can ring up the cash registers for guitar sales in peace...and we'll all raise our shot glasses (and to accommodate the non-drinkers..they can raise a shot of wheat grass) and we can bring Stikester a Pabst or Pearl or Lone Star or Schlitz or a Ralph's Blue Line generic and toast it up!! I don't play Hammers but this board and the characters are funnily funny!
