  1. Merry Christmas, Greg, and may you be well on the mend and on the way to a wonderful new year. Ditto for all the rest of the HFC family, minus the mending unless you need it.
  2. "... plays like butter." Gross.
  3. I remember bomb pops ... and pictures of BCR Greg on Ibanez colored three-wheelers.
  4. I wouldn't admit it many places, but I got some laughs out of this one.
  5. I pray the Peace of Christ over your mom and your entire family....may she be restored to full health and may she feel the loving arms of God Almighty wrapped around her... What he said, ditto, and Amen!
  6. I think I go back to 1998, and have seen a lot of users come and go over the years. The flame wars really did get bad, that is what brought on the sequence of changes on the site -- if my aging memory serves me right. Whatever DID happen to Billy Wong?

  8. Welcome to Motley Crue, Inc.
  9. I, too, had a '63 Jazzmaster (Sunburst) for my first electric guitar. My mom bought it for me in '66 after I proved myself worthy by playing a Silvertone acoustic for hundreds of hours and learning dozens of songs. I must have begged enough to drive her crazy. We had a chance at a Strat, but the Jazzmaster was a step higher in the Fender taxonomy and Jaguars were too pricey. I picked the Jazzmaster. It served me well, but when I hit my Hendrix/Beck/Clapton, et al., days, it wasn't so easy. Looking back, I'm sure it needed some bridge mods and I had no clue about intonation. Traded it for a new '68 Les Paul Goldtop with P90s. Would that I had either of those guitars now. Ain't hindsight grand?
  10. I recognized a lot of names in those links Jeff posted. I'm pretty sure I signed up nearly 10 years ago. Lots of things change in ten years.... Ten Years After would be a great band to have play for the reunion party, eh?
  11. I believe it's a nicer guitar than the description makes it sound. This one was likely owned by a sweaty player at one time, and the Wilkinson bridge design simply makes the oxidation a bit more evident. I literally took that bridge completely apart, oiled the parts, and reassembled it. As to the 'nasty' white parts, I may have them. The knobs were not only grimy, but had worn tops. The pickup covers were worn and grimy, too. I can't remember if I tossed them in the trash or the parts box, but I can check if someone really wants to know.
