I saw this today at The Music Shoppe in Terre Haute. I donβt know if Rick owned it or just autographed it. And yes, I asked immediately, but itβs not for sale.

After a nightmare shipping fiasco, no fault of the seller, I finally got this beautiful 96 Studio in my grubby little paws!

First pic I've ever seen of JeffR without the middle finger salute!

Dammit! It's playing on my system. I'll send someone else the file if they wanna give it a shot. I don't know what else to do. Try this . . . http://mrgibsonsnewblog.blogspot.com/2014/11/howzabout-little-video.html

I re-uploaded the video above. I think it works now.

I got a message about it being blocked in some countries because of copyright. I'll try to redo it tomorrow. No excuses for my lack of photoshop skills. I just dropped the Pirate off at UPS. Get ready JeffR!

Running behind schedule. I got my pics and recordings finished but didn't get it shipped today. Sorry! Too much crap going on. Tomorrow, I'll upload pics and video and get it to UPS.

The issue is dead. I had a meeting scheduled to go look over the books and discuss the business in general. I was 99% sure I didn't want to deal with it, but I wanted to be 100% sure. Right before I left school to head to the meeting, I got a text from him that he'd sold it out from under me. The City Manager, with whom I had discussed the possibility of the acquisition, went behind my back and tipped off a crony of hers who owns a paper in the next town over. That woman contacted the current owner, and he lied through his teeth, telling her that I had declined. Needless to say, I gave him hell, quit immediately, and went back to Menards to regain my old job. There's a slim possibility that the new owner might hire me to write, but I don't want to deal with that liar either. Fuck 'em all!

Starting working on pics today. Due to liability reasons, I'm using my considerable photoshop skills to hide my students' faces in the pic. I'll work on a video tomorrow too if I have time. After school, box it up and ship it to Cajun Country!

I'll try to get my video made and uploaded this afternoon. JeffR, I tried to PM you but your inbox must be full. Send me a shipping addy and I'll get the Pirate on its way early-mid next week.

That's like me eating a burrito and handing you the wrapper as I'm licking the bean juice off it. The heart of journalism (not advertising revenue, but pure journalism) is making a difference in your community. You have done and continue to do that with the youth in your community, Marty. Well said, my friend. Right now, I don't know what I'm going to do. Stress level is through the roof. I need the supplementary income, and I really enjoyed doing the newspaper. Do I take it over and retool it to be more profitable? Do I go back to selling light bulbs at Menards? Do I . . . ? The questions are swirling in my head. I'm not sure which path to take.

And now we have the whole story. I didn't get paid last week, prior week's check may have bounced. He's killing the paper or I can have it at no cost.

Unpacked, tuned up, cranked up through my little stack for about 20 minutes. It ain't pretty, but it carries tons of sweaty power rock attitude! Action is super low, and the tone will make you grow more hair on your sack! Pics and vids coming in the next day or two.

I'll open it tonight to check for PG 13.

There's a big brown box in my living room! I'll take it to school tomorrow and have the kids help me unveil it. WooHoo!

Quality insights. I'm leaning towards not buying it. More trouble than it's worth.

The owner of the little paper for which I work has offered to sell the business to me. I'm no businessman, but I like the idea of being my own boss. Do you biz types have any helpful advice? Are there grants or anything to help w startup costs? Can TIF funds help in some way? Other thoughts?

Ooh! I'm next! πππ

I'm trying to setup an interview w Grandpa and do an article in my newspaper. I'll keep you updated on the restoration progress.

The boy is going to keep his guitar and try to have it repaired. HIs grandpa, prior to leaving for Vietnam, bought it from an uncle. The uncle had bought it from his grandfather who had purchased it new. How did it end up in the garage? Apparently my student's grandpa left his wife and moved to California. Grandma took all the stuff he'd left behind, including this guitar, and stuffed in a shed/garage, where it was forgotten for years.

Amen, brother Thorn! Life has indeed been great lately!

It isn't mine . . . yet. I just had a repair guy look at it. He wasn't too worried about the crack, but there are two internal braces loose, not just one as I'd thought. He wasn't sure about how to fix those but seemed willing to take on the challenge. Given the numerous issues and concerns, how much should I offer the kid for it? $100? More? Less?
