If you're not using 15's, you need to at least try them. Vocals and 2-3 acoustics will kill most 12's in a small club setting (I use 15 in. monitors in a lot of small clubs). Killertone has the right idea... headroom is where it's at. Just because a powered head is not cranked doesn't mean it's not close to clipping. I actually tried a powered head for practice (thru mons.) and it wouldn't keep up. And our drummer was using triggers! Poe, I feel for ya and I hope ya get it figured out real soon!

Of all the music listed before about the bands being on drugs.... I got high listening to a lot of it. I quit getting high years ago and a lot of the music lost it's "magic." A lot of music sounds even better now. Kinda listening for the first time, so to speak. I bring out old shit from time to time and find a lot of stuff I never really appreciated the first time around. If someone was cranked or not... only they know. All I can say is try and do better, without losing your family and life....
