  1. What in the world made you think you were ever *in* the running or that there even *was* a running?
  2. How did I know that you would show up on this thread? LOL!!!
  3. WOW...great job Dave!
  4. I thought the Gov'nor was an OD pedal. IIRC Marshall's attenuator is called the Power Brake.
  5. I deleted a couple of posts. No biggie but there is absolutely zero need to rehash for the bazillionth time certain issues.
  6. And I think that speaks volumes for the guitars. People still admire and respect the guitars produced *despite* some of us feeling unappreciated.
  7. Bingo! Why is so hard for some people to understand that some of us are being critical because we love Hamer guitars and want to see them succeed? Why is it assumed that some of us hate Hamer. I see none of that here. FWIW I have heard *nothing* but positive things about the new regime at Hamer. Dealers are all saying that they are far more willing to work with a client now. All of you who are defending Hamer's previous ways... think about that for a second. If everything was so well run, then why the change?
  8. Nonsense... Show me *ONE* person with that attitude. Since when is *anyone* above being criticized? People on this thread has been critical of his business sense AND given him his due for the things that he *did* get right. None of it has been personal, all of it has been business. I have met Jol, he seems like a great guy. That doesn't mean that I have to agree with everything he does or says and when I *don't* it doesn't mean that I think less of him as a human. "Piss all over"...give me a break. For a smart guy, you sure say some dumb sh*t. LOL!!!!!
  9. Crowns, bound F-hole, Brazilian or ebony, possible custom color.
  10. ROTFLMAO!! Well, it is the truth. I love Hamer guitars. I have loved them since I first saw the ad for the Specials in guitar mags in the 80's. The fact of the matter remains that if Jol had given me the *tiny* refinements I had wanted at the time, I never would have had to look elsewhere. I go back to work in Sept. After I get a few things taken care of, I will check into getting that Korina V again. If the upcharge for a custom color doesn't take the guitar into the stratosphere, I will get it. Why *white* would be considered a custom color is beyond me, but I am willing to live with a modest upcharge...BUT, I will not bend over and let them charge me an outrageous fee. Getting back to the original point....the money I subsequently spent on my Hubers was Hamer's to lose..and Jol lost it. I cannot escape that fact. I will go on record and say that my full support for the new regime is there, but it is not unconditional. The Korina Vector and a decked out Duotone Custom are on my short list.
  11. Totally irrelevant to the issue at hand. The issue some people had with Jol was his refusal to do *very basic* mods to a guitar. Nobody here is talking about them bringing back a set-neck short scale Chap with boomers. Nobody disputes that Hamer made spectacular guitars. But when the person who makes the decision speaks out of both sides of their mouth, and expects us not to notice, there is an issue. Case in point... I can't tell you how many times I have heard Jol say (I am paraphrasing) that the pickups he puts in are generic because he knows the owner will "put their stink on it anyway". Then he turns around and refuses to *let* the owner of the new custom order "put their stink on it". Baffling. Or the refusal to do opaque colors on custom orders only to let other people order the same exact guitar a few months later. Sorry bro, but spectacular guitars aside, Jol cost Hamer at *least* 10K in orders from this member alone with that petty bullshit. I had money in hand wanting to order a Korina Vector in white only to be told "no". Same guitar shows up at NAMM that very year. To say I was livid would be an understatement.
  12. Dude...I never thought I would ever say this...but...god help me...you are the fattest guy in that band and you probably weigh 150 soaking wet. ROTFLMAO!!!!
  13. Yup...that is the one. That is me +about 100lbs with the white Hamer shirt on.
  14. Damn...4 years already? Jeezus, it seems like only yesterday that we were hanging out with JeffR, Cajunboy, Greg, and countless others at BCR after a jam session with Nightwolf. Still to this day one of them most fun nights I have ever been a part of.
  15. They aren't popular because they are useless. How many songs do you know that use those frets? I am sure they can be used for original music, but they have a very limited use.
  16. Blur...guy on far right
  17. If it has 2 pickups it is no longer a Jr, it is a Special. The magic of the Jr is in the fact that the neck joint isn't messed with in any way because of the lack of the neck pup. A Special and a Jr do not sound the same IMHO.
  18. yes...that and a serious twitch in his right eye that requires him to wear a patch. The patch has destroyed his depth perception which has given new meaning to the term "scatter wound".
  19. Maybe even longer than that. Joe is waiting for his clearance to obtain some cobalt. He claims to have discovered a different alloy mix for his magnets that really produces a sweet tone. the problem he has now is that they glow in the dark...slightly..but still noticeable.
  20. I would be all over a Standard Jr or a Vector Jr. That would be toooooo friggin cool.
  21. Yet another example of why the HFC is the best forum on the internet. Stuff like this make me proud to be affiliated with this place.
  22. $550 for bound F -Holes and $300 for a headstock overlay is friggin nuts. Absolutely not a knock on Dave, he is just quoting the list price given to him by Hamer.
