  1. I'd pick BC Rich too-Jackson's made lots of other different kinds of stuff, like the Surfcaster and the Jazz'R series.
  2. The end of an era! I'm playing somewhere this week but I forget where
  3. get them scorpions records with uli on guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya5bGthIz4E
  4. I saw photos of (pretty big gear storage/cartage place) Soundcheck this morning completely submerged in water, who knows how many priceless instruments were in there, not to mention the loss of lives, homes and livelihoods of those other than musicians... http://soundchecknashville.com/
  5. My favorite looper so far is the one in the Akai Headrush...dead simple to use and that sounds great as a delay pedal too. I'll hang on to the DD5 just because I've had it so long, but I was looking for a different sound...I play guitar in a Coldplay tribute band so I use a lot of delay for that.
  6. So I finally got one of these and I really dig it. Wasn't sure what to think of it at first cuz it's so different than a DD5, but after messing with it for a few days it has a really nice sound and is dead simple to use. The analog type delay sound makes for a bigger overall tone, rather than your normal tone with delay on it, if that makes any sense....it becomes a part of the whole picture rather than something on top of it. That's my zen observation for the day.
  7. How are those Area 51 drop in kit things? I too have a broken Crybaby that I'd love to rip the guts out of! By the way has anyone seen the new Budda wah? I might have to find a used one if I go that route.... http://www.budda.com/gear/gear.cfm?series=610
  8. Dude the Colorsound is my favorite wah ever...I wish I had the scratch to buy one off the dude that let me try his a while back. I'd love to try a Teese or Budda or whatever nicer wah, but I have a real hard time spending $250 on a pedal that I can't try out first.
  9. I've been watching every wah pedal demo known to man lately, and I'm pretty taken by the sound of this one on the "amber" setting. Does anybody have one of these, and what's the story?
  10. The coolest riff of all time:
  11. You'll be ok. Sound outside usually isn't as good but onstage it should be fine. Make sure you can see your tuner leds! If its a big festival type thing with a lot of bands and you're on wireless, make sure you aren't getting a bunch of interference...this happened with some of the rigs I was teching at a big outdoor festival last year. Other than that just treat it like any other show and you'll be good!
  12. Whats in your cd player/turntable/Ipod/8 track player lately?? Here's mine Greg V-Tailgate Troubadour...makes me want a wah pedal again... Krantz Carlock Lefebrve-s/t...a newer jazz record I actually enjoy, as well as respect like the rest of the genre. Jimi Hendrix Experience-Electric Ladyland...after being a music and guitar fan for as long as I can remember, I finally like Hendrix... Mark Knopfler-Golden Heart..revisiting his first solo record, I forgot how good it was. Jim Campilongo-Orange...Definitely a mood record, but amazing stuff. This guy is as talented and gloriously quirky as they come!
  13. Being a tech was fun, but I really missed playing after a while.
  14. Not trying to be a smartass just a little confused...
  15. No, Tech 21 Reverb pedal...I didn't know Egnater made a reverb??
  16. Burningyen had a nice Tech 21 Reverb for sale I think...
  17. She's good, but she's ankle-high to Jennifer Batten. Now I'm not saying she stacks up to Jennifer Batten, or Steve Stevens, or Steve Lukather, or anybody else who has played with MJ, but I think people's perception of her would be a lot different if that gig had worked out for her. Either way she is no slouch.
  18. I think if Michael Jackson hadn't bought the farm and she'd done the tour with him, all the musicians would be singing her praises a la Jennifer Batten
  19. Jisham I have a few friends that have those and have teched for guys that use them too, and they sound awesome, but I have to have a tap tempo control on there, especially with this Coldplay tribute band I'm in. I think I might just roll the dice and get one of these when I have some spare $ to see how it works out...
  20. I know there are a lot of Tech 21 fans here, does anyone have one of these? I am kicking around the idea of replacing my old Boss DD5 delay pedal, and I've been looking at TC's Nova Repeater but then I saw this guy and wondered how it was.
  21. Was that the guy that looked like Donal Louge? Charging ridiculous amounts of money for copies of a RR lesson transcript or something? I can't remember... Jeff that Rhoads is awesome too, I remember reading a seminar with Randy in Guitar World or something, and he said that apparently he had this guy set up his tremolos on his polka dot V and his Jackson V, and that afterward they stayed in tune so well that he didn't need a Floyd Rose...I guess that is why that one has the Fender-style bridge on it.
  22. Jeff I've read that the guitar Vinnie had was actually slated to be for Randy Rhoads, hence the stuff like the real early, handwritten logo, but they didn't have it finished before he passed away, and Vinnie was able to buy it when they completed it. I had a San Dimas-era Rhoads Custom for a while, which I wanted and saved for forever (I was in high school), and ended up scoring a really good deal on, but I could never really get that guitar sounding like I was happy with. I sold it to a friend of mine who still has it and enjoys it as far as I know. That guitar still had some of the most character of any guitar I've ever owned though.
