I should be able to drop by for a while this evening. We're doing 2 shows at the Famous Dave's Ribs and Blues Fest tomorrow in downtown MPLS tomorrow so I (realistically) won't be able to make the jam tomorrow.

On June 12, Cool Disposition will be playing 2 shows (6:30 and 8:30) at Famous Dave's BBQ Blues Fest at Peavey Plaza, Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. On June 25th we'll be at Neumann's bar in North St. Paul

I think I know him!

One of those was hanging in a local shop in the 90's and saw a few more at guitar shows. Every one of them had checked finishes. The originals seemed kind of clunky when I tried them out. The're a local upright player who has two of them (along with his upright and his Ampeg baby bass). He paid $2,500 for his most recent purchase and it needed some work. I have played it a few times and it is heavy and the neck was beyond chunky. The coolness factor, though, is off the charts!

Cool Disposition will be providing the entertainment for the pre-game warm up at the St. Paul Saints game tomorrow, Thursday 08/27, from 5:00 - 7:00. On Saturday, 8/29, we'll be at the Schooner Tavern (next to Rainbow Foods) on E. Lake St. in scenic South Minneapolis from 9:00 - 1:00.

Having seen both several times, Buddy and Johnny can be hit or miss. When they're on, they're on but when they're off it can be ugly.

My '96 2-TEK has the stock Duncan Vintage set in it and it sounds fabulous. I think 2nd generation CruiseBasses are the best deal in the used bass market.

As a geriatric blues bass player, I'd have to say Willie Dixon, Larry Taylor (Canned Heat, Hollywood Fats), Jerome Arnold (Paul Butterfield) and Jack Bruce are my greatest influences. I learned how to play blues by playing along with Butterfield's first 2 albums then expanded my horizons.

Years ago, we used to run an open stage blues jam in N. St. Paul and Shannon's mom used to bring her around when she was in town. She was really young, 14 or 15 if I remember correctly, but she sure could play. Speaking of Jonny Lang, his sister is on American Idol this year going by her real name, Jessica Langseth.
