    Seems like it may be more trouble than it's worth. That's a lot of resto work. If the power cord melted, chances are the innards of the chassis is toast, also. It may prove to be a truly total rebuild. 😞

    A bad tube is a bad tube. I accidentally fried a Telefunken preamp tube once. Felt bad about it for a couple of days, but all the regret in the world wouldn't change a thing. Had a RCA 12ax7 go bad. It tested strong on a tube tester, but upon observation, half the tube was dead. The other half lit up. I tossed both tubes & went on. 😞

    Reading the first few chapters,i did notice a typo. It states that Delaney Bramlett played an original Explorer in Leon Russell's band. The guitarist in question,was actually Don Preston.
