  1. Who's kid was selected to scribble the numbers on the back of the headstock?
  2. Amen to that last part. ^^This + a kajillion No offense to Axl, Dean, Jon Krammerer, or anyone else who's had their brand dropped in this thread. I can go to GC and find a dozen or more serviceable guitars at the price-point we're talking about here, but that ain't the point. My money is earmarked for something I could look at as a continuation of the Hamer legacy. Period.
  3. Holy cow! I thought the mini Vector in Mitch's photo was just added Hamer content, and the prize was only the lucite etchy thing (which for the record, I think is very cool as a stand-alone as well). But this....it's just fantastic and incredibly thoughtful and generous Mitch! It also really raises the bar for the recognition the rest of us need to come up with in another 230 days to honor your holding on to a guitar for a year!
  4. That's a generalization that doesn't always prove true. I've got a mahogany Standard that comes in just a hair over 8lbs, and neither of mine weigh more than 8.5lbs. I've seen some of the Korina examples top 10lbs. Call Kim Keller and see if he's able to look it up. I'd guess they have pretty good records for 2002.
  5. I believe the headstock binding was standard spec for the regular production Artist Custom (GATA) model. Are the original pickups included?
  6. Screw the naysayers! I say good for him for seeing her as being beautiful enough to model it, and good for her for having the courage to put it out there. Well, unless it's his mom.
  7. After Paul's recent comments re: the hall, it shouldn't shock anyone that they're going to avoid turning the event into something special.
  8. +1 on the Schecter Solo 6. I've got a gold top with P90s and it's a really good guitar. So good in fact, it remains 100% stock including the Duncan Designed pickups. Schecter = Bang > Buck
  9. Airline companies announce sales on Monday. The companies that didn't announce a sale on Monday reduce their prices on Tuesday to remain competitive. Buying tickets late Tuesday or Wednesday typically yields the best pricing. Prices are highest Thursday through Sunday when most travelers are purchasing their tickets.
  10. Apogee Jam into Amplitube 3 through a Dragonfly DAC to Equator D5's.
  11. Novembucker?
  12. It's a tiny lil thing
  13. Looks like a good one for a great price.
  14. In the recent guitar competition BTMN was involved in on the SD group, one or two voters there said they'd voted for the LP because they prefer a lighter guitar. That sounded odd to me given each of my 79s come in a few ozs proud of 8 lbs, which is lighter than nearly every non-weight relieved LP I've fondled.
  15. 2001 Hamer Standard Custom, B&C in what looks to be the typical '59 burst finish with what some apparently consider better than average flame. Only $2780 to your door.
  16. "Priced at what it is worth to me"
  17. I may have some info on that one, and could share what I know once we've seen pictures of the matching pair
  18. I've got this Reunion Blues bag that I have no use for, but at some point a previous owner cut off the backpack straps. Without the straps I doubt it's a solution to your problem, but your welcome to it for the cost of shipping if you think you can use it.
  19. My comment was only poking fun at LPF and not intended to stir the conspiracy pot. It's ironic that the group most critical of authenticity are content with the most inaccurate reissues around next to the Chinese stuff.
  20. The guys over at LPF have examined all ten pictures and have concluded it's a fake. asshats
  21. On the low side my interest would be strongest with a 25.5" wraptail Special/SG type thing w/ 2v/2t and a pickguard to allow a variety of neck pickup configs. On the high side, a hog/maple plain top bare-bones Tally Pro style.
  22. If you're going to consider something that ugly, you may as well go for a Jon Kammerer a save a few grand.
  23. The dot necks are much better looking on those. I'm always keeping my eye out for the right Tally Pro and the right early 60s style SG.
