Sadly this is exactly waht i tried to convey on my post... but i guess i wasnt verbose enough to get this point across.... instead alot opted that i was being angry and offensive yet again...(go figure that one eh ) As for whether i pointed the quality issues out that i saw... when i had the time and did stop by both Jol and Frank U were either busy or not spotted... I was quite busy hobbling around the entire floor and basement... having takin a dufle bag half full with me and taking it back FULL... the other half being lit for the boss(since we split the show in half to cover more ground)... i opted to take advantage of some of the other empty booths.... i spent an hour and a half talking to Gary Kahler alone... very enlightening... extremely nice man... and as much and msot people dislike the product i rather prefer it to the Floyd... whom i talked to for about 30 minutes.... i did like the Floyd speed loader though... I also had no time to spend standing in line to get autographs... but then again im not one for that... celebrity means nothing to me... ability does...if you have this then i applaud you for your effort... and as others ahve posted seeing lines upon lines of colored mohawked kids standing in line with green/yellow badges making it nearly impassable in some areas in a detraction from the true intent... Let me give an example of what happened to me.... I was at the BC Rich stand talking to a person "working" there... as i "attempted to get information and talk to him about purchases "Constantine" from American Idol" walked by... this "salesman" stopped talking to me completely... ran and got his autograph book.... got the mans signature THEN came backand didnt even apologize for ditching me so he could do this.... lets say they wont be getting any money... ever... this is why im cynical folks... because of true ignorance of people and lack of any type of respect unless its something benificial immediatly to the person being talked to... i will not deal with people like this... some might say "well why didnt you talk to his boss"... been there done that... it does no good... as others stated this is a trade show... so therefore i deal with it by walking away ... my money may be a drop in the bucket.... but i just filled someone elses bucket becuase of it.. but all in all i had a good time... no more rants.... i only wish id have gotten to meet more of ya there.... maybe next time... theres a difference between anger and cynisism... i dont think i spelled that right.. im not offended by the females... very pleasant to look at.. so have your opinions.... this happens to be mine whether you agree or not... its ok... i take no offense and i agree with Mr Haynie... these activities have been proported but ive not been able to substantiate(sp) in either direction. I will also state that I actually had a good time most of the time there... i did make some new friends and talk to those id normally not get a chance to... i can also relay some other positives and negatives on the show as well.... it may appear that my post is a total slam on Hamer .... im still satisified with all my product and most of the other product.... this time however i find fault...and as before this is my opinion.... but until i actually OWN the company i have no say in any matter relating to this at all.... so the whole thing becomes moot ... therefore... just have fun buy Hamer and live your life without worries... 1st and foremost what i found was that 99.9% of people in executive positions in the music industry are F++KING RETARDED.... and have nearly NO clue as to what the general public wants/needs. Also that they are extremely self-centered and have an evil agenda to fill thier pockets with cash by blowing smoke up your ass all the while having no intention of fulfilling what they promise. This being said lets move on to some high and low points of what "I" saw while there. I found out i like cheap looking hooker type / self degredating women.... and BOOBS..... these are the Dean girls for this year.... let me make 1 thing perfectly clear.... YOU DO NOT NEED TITS TO SELL INSTRUMENTS.... though they feel this is needed to up thier sales, most stores that fall for this trick usually fail miserably and go bankrupt due to the fact they over spent / didnt look at the market in thier area before buying.... now im not saying Dean makes a shit instrument... they make a GOOD US model and OK asian models(which country is making them now?) This was true also for Schecter who had a large (fake) breasted woman in thier "booth" anda few others that dont need mentioning... ok ill cut this a bit short and not make this a novel... let me move on to the Hamer "booth"... I say "booth" since it was a huge area full of other Kaman crap.. let me start with the "Made in China" JUNK.... OMFG... Who looked this stuff over before packing it to come here... flaw after flaw.... Hameritus EVERYWHERE... bad cuts of wood on EVERY single "Made in China" model there... plus an ACOUSTIC Hamer.... ok i can see that...it will grow on me... the USA models.... yes the "S" in the USA on the standard there was a little lacking in color but it IS there... poor quality control... and speaking of quality control lets look at this "Grand Ole' Opry" model shall we.. its the one on the far left.... lets talk about quality control.... please look at the 12th fret marker... its NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING SQUARED.... OMFG WTF ... you do NOT bring an instrument with quality issues to a show... unless your planning on just flat out loosing money to your compitition and being a laughing stock... thats 2 instruments on this 1 rack alone out of 4 with quality control issues... Lets also point out they did NOT bring 1 SINGLE BASS this year... NOT 1.. Heres another personal problem i have with a "jazz" guitar... this is entirely TO SMALL ... thsi also had some quality issues with it. I did the worst thing anyone can do from seeing only pictures of this guitar before eyeing one... i "ASSUMED" it was in the larger vein like the 335s.... my bad... beautiful guitar.. personally i think it needs to be larger... but thats just me... now for the 4 positive things i brought home from this adventure... 1 i got to push Greg around a bit... 2 i also was pleased to meet each and every HFC member that was there.. you were all wonderfull to talk to even for the brief amount of time we spent together.. 3 i got to see Gene Baker... with whom i hadnt seen in 21 years.... Gene and i were in "rival" bands in Santa Maria Ca. before he went to GIT .. i PLAYED his first guitar he built WAY back when when he first built it... if you read this Gene it was good to see you again man... and last but not least... I got to talk to Frank / Frank / and Jol.... while i only talked to Jol and Frank U for a few minutes it was pleasant and a pleasure. The time i spent talking to Frank(pictured) was both wonderful and enlightening... i learned alot from him and have a great deal of respect for the man. Please dont get me wrong while i do point out ALOT of short comings from Hamer this year i still will only ever play these guitars and basses and point them out to hopefully show that paying attention to detail means alot to some people. One last thing... NAMM also reminded em of why i dislike the human race... please if you get nothing from this piece take this... There are more people on this planet than you... and the world doesnt revolve only around you and your pathetic attempt at an agenda .. money is only a tool and not the reason to live by.... that being said the next mother f+++er that "attempts" to run me over or push me out of the way gets decked... This whole think is relative to the fact that the large companies now want to flood the market with thier product and phuk the little music stores out of business. Peavey is selling thier shit to PAWN SHOPS.... PHUKING PAWN SHOPS... FFS... 99% of pawn shops cant even service thier spouses let alone a guitar. It shows that these companies have NO respect for thier dealers. Guitar Center will never have my business neither will any pawn shop that sells NEW musical gear of any type for this reason... I agree that the employees at most of these places aer clueless... making not themselves look bad but the employer for stocking merchandise that should belong in a music store with knowledgable salesman, not a 18 punk workin his 1st job going duhhhhhhhh sorry man i cant help you dood. It all boils down to $$$ the companies need money since thier companies are semi failing with low quality products so this is their answer.... in retail a quick fix is not always the best solution to money woes..... stockholders have no patience though... so to fix the problem... I have this 78 (WAS) white (now is tobacco white) Rickenback 4003 that has an issue... i cant seem to git the nicotine and/or what ever other shit gunk on the body or neck to come off ive tried lizard spit, the dunlop 65 , 409..... that orange peel shit.... NOTHING is takin this mess off... when i play the neck after about 15 minutes its like the shit is coming out of the pores and makes my palm stick to the back of the neck... irrataing as hell since the other 3 dont do this..... any ideas will help please....
