Favorite bands that went nowhere, dept.
mathman replied to BCR Greg's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I hate to say they didn't go anywhere but they never really "made" it. The Raisins. Now known as the Psychodots. Great mix of writing/ humor/ musical ablility/ and sound but just never made it with a label. Lots of fans all over but didn't hit it "big". -
Tom Petersson and bought a Cruise Bass. Cause I couldn't afford a 12 string.....
-
I'm sure there's at least ONE person who's doing thinking that.

For the price the Hamer XT standard is a nice guitar. I have the black and creme XT. Changed the pups but nothing else yet.

I have the most albums by....(fill in the blank)

Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, then Cheap Trick. Those three bands I tried to find and get every piece of music I could since I was either very young or they started selling albums. -

BCR Blueburst Limited Run
mathman replied to BCR Greg's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
I have the black and creme XT standard and it is a great guitar. Paid nearly the HFC standard of tree-fiddy for it ($349 w/o case) and I love it. I want a USA to match my USA Cruise Bass but am gonna have to wait a few more years. If you don't have the money the XT seems to me to be much better than many of the other guitars available at that price or higher. -
I need advice on a "kind of" custom guitar idea
mathman replied to bbobb24's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I let my friend (he's still like a kid do this back in 1984 to my Fender Bullit bass using his airbrush. Then clear coated it. It lasted all through the years. (still have it) I might let my kids to it to one too. Would be pretty cool for a Dad. -
What's this Hamer Relic worth?
mathman replied to Bruce's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
That's gonna cause some confusion, Mind if we call you Bruce to keep it clear.... -

Yes they can but obviously you are too dense to accept it. -

The First Tone That Made You Say... "Whoa!"
mathman replied to Hamerhack's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
It wasn't the first but I still remember hearing Rick Nelson playing Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape on the Live! in the Air Age album. That is how I've always wanted to sound.... Still do -
The First Tone That Made You Say... "Whoa!"
mathman replied to Hamerhack's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Early on it probably was Pink Floyd Wish you were Here and Animals, and Jethrol Tull. Minstrial in the Gallery. For bass it had to first be Tom Petersson and the the opening to Running with the Devil - Van Halen. -
+1 on elvis is dead and +100 for Bon Scott Some balls are held for charity And some for fancy dress But when they're held for pleasure They're the balls that I like best My balls are always bouncing To the left and to the right It's my belief that my big balls Should be held every night

Raisins/Psychodots wrote some of my all time favorites. king of beers written by bob nyswonger Don't know how I got here But I don't really care They'll kick me out at closing time I'll go sleep somewhere Most all of my accounts Are in arrears The royal treasury's kind of short I am the King of Beers My wife she had a roving eye And didn't hide the fact The mailman and the plumber They all got in on the act My boy's been running With a pack of queers But the great can bear adversity And I'm the King of Beers Sometimes I get shaky and I can't keep down a thing But no one ever said It would be easy Being king The pressures of my office Have hastened this decline 'Cuz when I peel my eyelids back It feels like Miller Time Most all my proclamations End in "Cheers!" You've got to keep your spirits high When you're the King of Beers If my luck holds I'll reign a few more years Until my sceptre floats away I am the King of Beers

I've always like bands with great or funny witty lyrics. Jethro Tull, Joe Jackson, Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello to name a few so I thought a thread of our favorite lyrics would be interesting. whole songs, verses or parts. I'll start with Lit's description of an entire infatuational relationship in the least number of words in Miserable. You make me come. You make me complete. You make me completely miserable. The entire relationship in only 7 words. Add you own!

I wish I was waiting for it... Nice!

The "instrument that started it all"
mathman replied to Willie G. Moseley's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
watching this guy and this guy and of course this guy but I couldn't afford neither a fender/ Gibson/ or Charvel guitar.... So I got a Hondo II... and of course this guy had the bass I wanted... but I settled for a four string cruise bass. -

Our FIRST time playing at a party around 1980. The lyrics and songlist are written inside the lampshade. Just spin it around for the next song.....
