Thanks, gents. Believe it or not, Diablo, it's been a bitch. At least finding a gig that pays is. And Nathan, I'm actually older than that, but BM doesn't give a year option past 99. I credit my "youthfulness" with healthy living, tantric sex and of course the cursed painting I keep in my attic... -
Hey guys- Looking for work in the Chi-town area, thought I'd throw this up and see if anybody here needed what I'm pushin'. Love to get opinions on the vid in any event. Here's my "ad copy"... Guitarist available for cover (and original) band work. For more info/pix/audio/video/ect go to: http://www.bandmix.com/guitarslinging/ Contact Guitarslinger direct at: [email protected] This is a "stream of consciousness" sampling of tunes. No overdubs, no punches- just one long take with the Axe FX II straight into the recorder (I go direct into FOH live as well). The only edits done were to remove "dead air" and pedal board clicks between riffs. Everything you hear is the Axe FX direct, I did not EQ or use any effects outside the Fractal unit. All effect and tone changes are done on the fly as I play via the Fractal MFC pedal board. What you hear is exactly what the audience would hear in a live show... just hopefully without the clams...

Just watched Cheap Trick/Budakhan 35th Anniversary show. Saw Rick's "hockey stick" Les Paul. Reinforced how much I dig that look. I'd buy the aforementioned cmatthes suggestion in a heartbeat...
-
Didn't really warm to this thread until Polara mentioned the "hockey stick" headstock on a "Paulish" body. Bind the whole deal, finish it in a burst (cherry, ice tea, whatever) and keep it around $1500 and I'd be interested. Edited to add- Just make Matthes suggestion (in flat top) and you have a winner. DON"T go the Paul name route, though. Carve a new niche, make it your own.

Interesting fretboard markers- assuming this was a custom order, correct? Very cool. Edited to ask- how do holoskulls go bad?
-
I don't look like that, but I just went out and bought a low cropped top and push-up bra. Figured what the fuck, it can't hurt.... but Jesus wept, it does!!!! How do you gals wear this shit and not Buffalo Bill (see below) yourselves just to never have to wear it again!
-
4 million plus views and copy written material will get ya suspended on the ol' BoobTube...

They can, but she doesn't. That's a push-up giving God's gifts a hand.

Now THAT"S the video I wanna see...

My fave part? The fact that her boobs keep perfect time. A regular "Tit-ronome" happening here. The ta-ta's are real (just pushed waaaaay up, giving the illusion of a larger size). The voice is nice, but not mind blowing. The guitar playing? Decent, nothing spectacular but it appears she doesn't aspire to be Orianthi anyway. Lots of these gals (and guys) out there, I give 'em all credit and wish 'em all the best.

Show yourself playing guitar without a band behind you.

Kahler for the win. Nice job. -
ruling out potential band members based on gear
svl replied to bcsride's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
They probably had a cat in the band (or auditioned one or two) who used a Line 6 and couldn't get decent tone out of it (and who was evidently also a Tool, Trivium fan), therefore all Line 6 amps are crap. Hey, the heart wants what the heart wants. Notice I didn't mention the mind there.... -
To quote Alanis, "isn't it ironic"? Working at the greatest guitar audio company in the world, and having all those wonderful toys at your disposal and you get rock-blocked by it! BTW, 10.9 once again killed. I hope you're enjoying the new gig. On the subject, I can't say I'm necessarily better, but different. Absorbing different genres, merging and regurgitating them in unexpected ways, just has always seemed to be the natural progression of things. It feels like I'm better, but could just be the wonderful feelin' of constantly new "strange".

Don't ya mean half EXPLORER, half Paul(ish)? Since you look to be the man with the Dean plan, Arm, any shrimpfork headstocked Caddy's hiding in that stash you'd want to part with?
-
The Dean site has a FS board on the forum. BUT- funny enough, most of the good vintage geets are still sold by members on eBay and not on the forum. One of the guys there just sold two beautiful '81 Cadillacs last week on eBay (both went for $1300). I too have been searching for a Dean Caddy, but unlike most I want the shrimpfork headstock and stock Kahler (puts me in the '83 to '85 range). If anyone has one and wants to let it go hit me up. Would love crowns and 7 ply as well.

When will it actually be released? "It's in the book."
