Custom Taladega Sale Over
Punkavenger replied to Factree's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Well, not really. I have been expecting something else for the last 5 months. So it was a bit a of bad life moment to open the case and not have what I was expecting. At first I wrote it off as a cool thing, as it might be the first and only Crown inlayed Talladega, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought I shouldn't be paying 2800 dollars for something that wasn't exactly the way I ordered it. Not to mention the fact that is my employee price. Its not cost, they mark it up for employees. Its still a FAR better deal than what anyone would pay for this particular guitar. Its an awesome playing and sounding guitar, and it may be vane to send it back for inlays. Its just SOOO much money for it to not be spot on. I hardly expect it to sell here in a day or two. I just thought I could cut the time down, and if I sold it and ordered a new one, it would save frank and that small hamer crew alot of work. I dont know what they would do with this guitar. Keep it, loan it to artists, sell it to another dealer. I have no idea. They wont have to deal with any of that if it sells. I can just place a new PO for the correct guitar. Well I understand your dilemma and of course everyones taste is different. However I think you should sleep on it. look at all the "positve crown" comments you've gotten in a very short period of time. Benefits of keeping guitar as is A. don't have to send it back and can play it NOW B. A true collectors item and should be worth more in the future should you decide to sell it. C. victory inlays SUCK (if I may say that) Personally I think you opened the case and thought "Damn, thats not what I ordered" after waiting for 5 months it kinda freaked you out, you felt cheated ... ripped off. !!! I would feel the same way. However, crowns simply look better. Come over to the crown side Luke! -

Who makes a better Tele than the T-51?
Punkavenger replied to Travis's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Hope youre not referring to the Daytona mine blows every "real" Strat I've ever played away. (I think it's a combination of SFG, light weight and those cheap GFS pickups ) A friend of mine has a really nice (looking) Fender Tele USA ... She loves it, but I think thats because its a "real" Tele ... in reality its a piece of crap, heavy and flat sounding. I guess it really boils down to there being clunkers in every category. I've never played one but those Nash Teles LOOK sweet anyway... love to try one someday. I love vintage and I'm sure the majority of pre CBS stuff is just incredible ... I love Ferrari's too, I just try not to think about it -
