  1. Have you read that Bonamassa buys old Gibby lap steels just for the plastic output jack plate. They are the same as on Bursts and buying an original Burst one costs a fortune!
  2. Totally loved it. Very nice production all the way through the track.
  3. Mine was made in Korea. I googled around and it seems they switched from Korea to China manufacture in 2021. I didn't seem to find any reviews on quality differences if any.
  4. Just wanted to pass this good deal along. Sweetwater has their limited edition 'Vintage Orange' G5420TG-59 on sale. I have one of these and I love the crap out of it. Great guitar, plays great, looks cool and sounds very nice, like a nice old gretsch. Recommended! https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/G5420TG59VOR--gretsch-g5420tg-59-sweetwater-exclusive-vintage-orange?utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=midfunnelnewcore&utm_content=display&utm_term=970x250&utm_id=171270&cto_pld=Fr6cyzoJAACGWGShfr05sA&dclid=CO6r5ejY0IUDFfvuGAIdwrQE8w
  5. These dudes are crazy tight. There's some insane guitar work in this. Watch it all.
  6. I have always found that speakers are THE biggest tonal difference in the entire guitar-pedal-amp-cab chain. Changing speakers completely changes so much. Some amps just come alive with the right speaker. I love trying difference speakers. Even some of the less popular models from big names! Here's a few favs I've found. I love old Hiwatt era Fanes. Super clean JBL/EVs for guitar. Duane Allman reportedly used both JBLs and Cerwin-Vega ER123 speakers. Love my Tone Tubbies too.
  7. Nice price. Wish it had the original case.
  8. And, you need to be in this band with the 'Mad Drummer'.
  9. G12H30's are one of my favorite speakers. I have one mixed with a Greenback in a 2x12 cab. That is the same combo that Bogner uses in their Goldfinger cab. I've swapped a lot of speakers in/out of my 2x12 and this combo just sounds sweet for classic rock. I do love Tone Tubby Red Alnicos, I have two of those and they make EVERY 1x12 combo and cab sound better. Yeah, they really are that great.
  10. These are super nice soft cases. I have one, love it. A steal at that price.
  11. Just a little follow-up. I grabbed a used ODR Mini for $60 and yeah, I dig it. In the video Tom talks about the 'clean coming through'. I now understand that and what to listen for. I tried a few of my other fav ODs and there is something to that.
  12. Check out the video I posted. Tom Bukovac loved the new reissue Nobles Mini for about $100 or less. I just bought one, incoming!
  13. I had a Barber for a while. Great pedal. As one of my other favs, The Greer Lightspeed, love that one.
  14. As most of us are, we're always chasing the best tone. And, especially Overdrives. I have an original Klon, which is become infamous and unobtainable (I have a $30 Chinese Klone and honestly, it sounds exactly the same) The original Nobels Overdrive is considered by many to be one the very best also. The originals go for $600+. I've never owned one, but keep an eye out for used ones. Haven't found an affordable one. So, I LOVE videos by Tom Bukovac. The guy is a monster and his videos are always fun and informative. Grab a beer first - haha. I came across this one with him doing an Overdrive 'blind' shootout. They compared many of the best-of-the-best vintage and new... Klon, Tube Screamer, Nobels, Timmy, Analog Man, Voodoo Drive etc. Really, great to see him and his peeps go thought them in fine detail and pick what is the best. It's a long video, but I watched every minute of it. And, the winner was a real surprise.
  15. Uh oh, This brandy-new Bogner looks sweet.
  16. Sounds awesome! We love La Posta!
  17. Just to the East of Las Cruces, NM. They are pretty spectacular.
  18. It's been a wild couple of months here! Last week was my last day working. I closed my Video Production business after 38 years (45 years total in the Television/video industry). My wife is still working a little longer. She is lucky to be able to work 100% remote for her company. And, we moved to NM. A couple of years ago, we purchased a couple of acres overlooking the Organ mountains with the plan to build our dream home. We sold our house in Colorado and moved to Las Cruces, NM! I've lived in Denver for 40 years. It was a great city for most of that, but not anymore. It's fallen to all the ugliness/prices of most big cities. Plus, we just couldn't deal with snow and cold anymore. Now the fun part of the story. My last official job was working in Nashville. So, I had a plan to go to the Gibson Garage. And, as a retirement gift to myself, I ordered a Custom Shop Lester! I was with a couple of guitar player friends. One worked there, so, we got some 'extra special' treatment, OMG! What a fun time working with them designing and building the perfect '59 Murphy Lab Les Paul guitar for me. I brought some sample pics and their Custom shop guy Dylan, found me the perfect, insane flame top. We went with a Dirty Lemon Burst to bring out the flame. I tried all the neck carve sizes and picked the V2 neck carve, slightly smaller than vintage '59 neck. Grovers, instead of Klusons, my choice, Murphy Lab Ultra Light aging. When you get the Murphy Lab team involved, they hand-do the aging and what was more important to me, they do extra fret-edge rolling beyond what the regular Custom Shop does for a super comfy feel. If you order it at the Garage, it's only about a 6 month wait. Not too bad. I am so stoked!!! Then, we got a tour of the secret 'vault'. Lots of very cool, one-of-a-kind vintage axes. And, more than that, they have all kinds of interesting artifacts like original Gibson Patents, the original Les Paul body template etc. All kinds of wacky stuff!
  19. There was one of these rare, killer Bogner Ecstasy 25's pop up on Reverb. Did someone here snag it? https://reverb.com/item/77418334-bogner-ecstasy-25-mint-condition?utm_content=feed_listings&utm_source=braze&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily-Feed-Email&utm_term=Feed Email
  20. Got a email from Willie Moseley last week. He's with Vintage Guitar magazine. He's writing a book on the history of Robin guitars. Sounds very cool. He's using some pics of my guitars.
