  1. Yup...it used to be that way. But Hamer changed that, by going out of business šŸ˜‰. Now it seems like no matter what you do to them, the value still goes up ( or at least some people think that)
  2. Listened to all the 23 min of it. Cool story.
  3. Is it possible to buy Hamer Standard for $4K? Just wondering.
  4. By the way I bought one, as I mentioned earlier. What can I tell, it's not bad, but...for me personally - do I need a mexican guitar with non floating floyd, and a neck, that needed to be shimmed in order to create a bit of an angle, as floyd wouldn't go any lower and strings were too high? Just because it said EVH? If anyone considering buying it, I'd say go for Charvel, and, if you lucky, Jap version. The funny part was returning it. Decided to do it in person. Came to the store, obviously, they did not have it on display, so no one knows how it looks. Clerk looks at me and goes - you say you didn't play it? Me: Of course not! He went to call the manager, and this manager guy also tried to give me hard time because of the beat up looks, like I played the shit out of it. So we had some fun after he looked at it on the pictures. My view - not worth it.
  5. The only thing I'm wondering about in the ads like this one, is why they would ask for 33 cents, not 35 or 78? On the other hand the first digit of this whole number kinda gives it away, that the person is deeply disturbed and was just hitting random numbers. Good thing he didn't accidentally hit any letters and incorporated them into the price as well
  6. Hm...So, Rand Black Witch with Hamer logo. I sure would love to hear the story
  7. Reasonable? I'd say non-existent price.....And sold.
  8. Hm...Decided to place an order for a white one. Original concept is pretty ugly to my taste, but, like Kiz said, I'm gonna slap one of the loaded pickguards on it ( and I have a few of them), see how it goes and if it pleases the eye...it'll go back to ( as was said before) where the other guitars rest. Just yesterday I was eyeballing beat up and molested white EJ Strat. I guess this one will do for now.
  9. Venmo or PP FFā€¦thatā€™s pretty much gift to someone who doesnā€™t really have any profile on fbā€¦or anywhere i guess. at the times when scam is as common as breakfast.
  10. still selling at adjusted price
  11. Hm...17-18 years ago? I think I was the one who bough it. Any chance you remember if the case had any specific markings on it?
  12. If you dont mind telling - which airline? Last year Delta stopped me and demanded to check.
  13. I totally forgot. About 5 years ago I bought 6 short string lock screws on ebay and haven't seen them since. Thanks for reminding, and they have them in stock. šŸ‘
  14. EZ Coil is the answer. Got it yesterday, installed it, even tried to overtighten just to see how it behaves... it and it holds fine. So threaded inserts it is! Thanks guys.
  15. Itā€™s +45 for black
  16. For the chrome one Yes, but once you go black, it jumps to 118ā€¦and itā€™s in Euro. Not sure why thereā€™s such a price hike for simple black color
  17. I got in touch with him at the time. He asked to send him $$ as a gift. I responded that I'll send him funds as a purchase and will cover the fees and even put some on top to make sure he is not at loss. He then said he doesnt know me and I'm some kind of scammer. Totally irrational prick. People like that will have to pay me to buy from them.
  18. Damn!!! $130 today's price, + shipping I guess. that is phuken ridiculous
  19. Perfect, gonna try this one. šŸ‘ Sent them an email. Will see if they respond. Thanks
  20. It's not just Hamers, it's on all of Schaller...baseplate is made of pot metal and only knife inserts are hardened, although I saw some with hardened inserts for those threaded holes as well.
  21. Hey guys. I added another Hamer to my collection with Schaller Floyd that has 4 stripped holes on it's baseplate, or should I say I added another stripped Schaller floyd to my collection of stripped floyds. Was just wondering if anyone ever repaired those threaded holes, or should I just start looking for a new base plate? Seriously, why would someone put so much force to tight this tiny screw? Any input would be appreciated.
  22. I'm not Geoff, but you are absolutely correct. This is from the beginning of the 90s era, I'd say 90-93 may be, Probably XL series. I had somewhere the serial association for those years. Very good Jap quality guitars. At some point I had all the professional XL model line - DK, Fusion, Soloist, RR all in white. Still have couple
