Maple Top, Maple Neck, Ebony Board, I’m surprised they stayed with the Mahogany Back. Mine was in the 8Lbs range, I had that guitar for a long time. In no way was mine a big neck.

@The Shark I thought for second that you bought my old one, but mine went to Norway and had a fair amount of buckle rash on the back.

Better for us, maybe, but that is a matter of opinion. The Band wanted something else, and it’s very possible that they had a different vision and after it was done they decided that “OK maybe we were wrong” and didn’t release it. Albini just captures what the band sounds like or what any band sounds like in the room at that moment. I’m interpreting that he didn’t really have a sound like some producers have. His sound is like listening back to yourself, if you hate your own voice you’re not going to like what you hear. Personally, I think some of them are great, some of them aren’t but at least we have the option of listening to the one we want to hear. Well, they sound different, but still damn good. My 11 year old daughter loves Cheap Trick, but she hasn’t come around to the old stuff. She loves the post Bun E music. Her favorite CT Song.

I have classic 57’s and have swapped out the Custom Custom back and forth. The Custom Custom with the volume on like 8.5 sounds identical to the 57 Classic. I just leave it slightly rolled back and open it up for leads. I really wish the winder of the neck pup would have signed it, its fantastic.

I love TB, but he did two shoot outs on his channel and always picked the original and it was no contest. But when he did the blind test it was not as cut and dry. I would bet because he didn’t know which was which, and more importantly he couldn’t see where the knobs were set and only relying on his ears. At the end of the day, it’s between you and your ears. YouTube will never get across how the pedal is going to feel and react to you and your setup.

Ok here is the scoop that I got today at a Chicagoland Sam Ash. They were closing and were only told on Wednesday. Signs were delivered, notices given. Sam Ash is closing stores nation wide and it is rumored that a sale of the company is coming. They are closing profitable stores, shrinking the footprint to make it more sellable.

I just want to note that Mike sent 0105 out with speed knobs on it, and I wasn’t sure about the look. That all went out the window once I used the guitar. I work my volume all the time and they are so easy on the finger. Not very often do I see another build that makes me jealous but DAMN that is HOTTT!
