We need to know now on any of the above as we probably have one more practice time with our drummer before heading out and some of these tunes we have not done since June.
  2. I am referring to Chicago.
  3. Guys we are going to need a bass player for: Train Kept A Rollin' Don't Tell Me You Love Me A few others that we have in our back pocket if time allows: Too Hot To Handle Paranoid You Got Another Thing Coming Boys Are Back In Town Cowboy Song Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo Any bass player know some of these ?
  4. Hey BTMN - Too Hot To Handle Paranoid You Got Another Thing Coming We play these ones if you are interested. We have played Living After Midnight a million times so we switched to the other tune above. We do Doctor Doctor also, Personally Too Hot To Handle is more fun to play. Just let us know so we can brush up on them before we get out there if you want to do any of these as we have been working on new tunes. 3 songs we will have ready hopefully will be Train Kept A Rollin', Don't Tell Me You Love Me, Cowboy Song.
  5. Man you guys are coming up with some wild shit. Kick Out the Jams !! I use to hate that song cause it was all noise to my ears. I don't mind it now. White Punks on Dope ? Ha ! Forgot all about that song after I rolled that large paper in my Cheech and Chong album !
  6. Well that is different ! BTMN I have done Electric Eye at Bruces last jam when you were there, Doctor Doctor, Too Hot To Handle, Paranoid and Stranglehold. Electric Eye I would have to brush up on though. Some others I know: Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers Boys Are Back In Town / Jailbreak / Cowboy Song You Got Another Thing Coming / Too Hot To Handle Rock N Roll Kryptonite International Love Song Highway to Hell / Dirty Deeds What I Like About You Train Kept A Rollin Don't Tell Me You Love Me Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo
  7. A suggestion perhaps. I use this all the time. One of my favorite whip it out when you need to jam sequences. What is cool is that it gives the blues a harmonic minor twist. Opens it up to playing all kinds of scales from regular blues to harmonic minor if you want. Can mix them even. Anyway below is Am to D7 to E7 or your basic I IV V I IV V --5----5----7 --5----6----9 --6----5----7 --7----7----9 --7----5----7 --5----X----X Repeat as necessary then.... F maj barre to E maj to Diminished and back to Am as follows... --1---0---4 then back to Am --1---0---3 --2---1---4 --3---2---3 --3---2---X --1---0---X F E Dim Super easy to play once you try it. Anyway just an example thown out there.
  8. Yeah if our drummer comes we will be doing Cowboy song for sure. We might do You Got Another Thing Coming - sounds like Joe wanted to do that tune. Maybe we could do some kind of huge instrumental jam at the end or something. I have all kinds of them. Just throwing it out there as a possible option. Getting sick of Stranglehold I guess. Be fund to get some shredders up there and tear it up.
  9. Anybody got any songs they want to do or need help on or whatever ? So far I know we will be doing Train Kept A Rollin by Aerosmith. Working on Don't Tell Me You Love Me (Night Ranger) right now also. Very fun tune and I always wanted to learn the solos.
  10. I have one of their CD's and I dig it a lot.
  11. Ain't a matter of brand here only preference as well as the individual guitar itself. I have heard Calis that sound like ass also as I had one. And I have played Japanese Charvels that ring like a bell. So go figure.
  12. Guess who gets to watch the cat ? MEOW !
  13. Fear not..... Brad the drummer is coming. I think he might be bringing another bassist along as well.
  14. I know me and Joe are going to be there. What about some of the other guys - Rob, Jimmy, Johnny, any of the girl bands, Zoner, Ted, BILL W etc ?????
  15. Now let me get this straight - that is the 15th as opposed to the 15th right ?
  16. Tommys Guitars looks like a kick ass store.
  17. I better start working on my bikini lines.
  18. I remember when we jammed to the Nuge at Bruce's 50th ! That was a blast. We gotta come up with another good jam song this go around.
  19. Chris I found out I can attend. Would like to register for the luncheon, jam etc... I will send you an email per your instructions on the other thread.
  20. Yeah you are correct on the TB5. I was told by the pick up guy I purchased from that it was the F spaced version of the Custom 5. It is hotter than the Custom 5 according to the website. A great pick up in their line IMO (TB-5 that is). Also those old original Dimebuckers - some of those old ones are killer pick ups. The new ones don't sound as good. The old ones had more dynamics. With regards to the F spacing - a regular sized pup will work with a Floyd with no loss of sound. But the pole pieces don't line up perfectly with the spacing at the bridge. They still work fine though.
  21. I have a Custom 5 - actually a TB-5 which stands for Trembucker cause it is F spaced for a Floyd. It is a fine pick up. Good growl. Good harmonics. Not too hot. All in all I think it is one of the best in it's price range. The best feature IMO is that you can turn the volume down a bit - between 7 - 9 and the pick up cleans up and becomes more dynamic. A cool feature if you know how to take advantage of it.
  22. Mm.....after Fender bought Jacksons the quality of the custom shops are still the same - but they still have the same guys that for years were building them - same 3 main dudes. Yet more quality issues because Fender - being a big company - is always trying to save money by cutting some corners. Example: If a body was not perfect in the past the Jackson Custom Shop would throw out the entire body and restart brand new. Now they redo it if possible so they don't have to use up new wood and can save the old wood. Cheaper to do it this way. I can tell you from hanging on the Jackson board for years there are more minor quality issues even with the Custom Shops but overall quality is pretty much the same. Just now you might get some irregularities or fret issues once in a while. And when this happens it is a real pain cause it takes a looooooooong time for the shop to get to it and correct it because they are busy and have to make numbers.
  23. It's funny: I have read from many top builders that contrary to what many people believe a good Floyd Rose set up correctly stays in tune better than a stop tail piece or other non-floating bridges. Personally with amount of wide vibrato I do I tend to agree. Just about every electric I have has a Floyd - I love 'em and I don't use the whammy bar hardly ever. I just love the bridges.
