  1. The samples were fine. Probably it's something that I need. But it seems I will need to stay with Rivera's, because in this contry they're avaliable as well as maybe Bogner'a and Solando's and Brunetti's. That's all. Out of tube Marsall's we can opt only TSL and DSL, and that's all too. Peavey's 5150 and stuff are ok, but they're completely different and the Mesa/Boogie F-30 is a bit controversial. The weight of apms (from 25 kilo) raises their prices tremendously, when delivered from abroad.
  2. Thanks. The Germino seems exaclty what I need. Meanwhile, I tried out a Marshall 401 DSL today and I have a controversial impression. It really kills everyone on its 40 tube watts Pluses: - creat attack - natural overamplification; it overdrives smoothly keeping the natural guitar tone and by degree turns into a veritable roar. That's what tube amplification must be like, IMO. No hiss at hights - very loud, I'd expected the worse - it can play at a quiet level as well Minuses: - still it shouts a bit, I hear some frequencies that aren't ok for my ear. - bassy bottoms are almost absent. It can't go trough and farts a bit, too sad. - the hi-gain channel was not impressive at all; I'd leave it out to reduce the price - it still sounds too hard for me, if not to say stiff And they gave me a guitar with P-90s in, I noticed that only later. Well, the main impression is its mid-gain and it sounds very bright when soloing. And I could play some fank, jazz rythm, rock. It's extremely hard for me. I can't say if it's suitable for modern metallists, maybe not, I'm not surre. So, I would grow interested in it, if it had a bit more basses. And I wanted to compare it with a TSL601, but the store was already closing. So perhaps next time. P.S. Above all, it sounds as a real Marshall, all the same.
  3. Ok , thanks. Judging by the info on this page http://www.drtube.com/marshall.htm#JCM800 I can buy any of model below year 1988. I would say if you are looking for the classic Marshall Plexi sound you don't want a JCM800. How so? Maybe I need a blues breaker?
  4. Ok , thanks. Judging by the info on this page http://www.drtube.com/marshall.htm#JCM800 I can buy any of model below year 1988.
  5. Oj, that makes sence! Thsnk you!
  6. 2 zzdat. All that u're saying is interesting. People say Marshall 401 DSL has a more modern overdrive/distortion style and they are like "you'll pay for the name". And I didn't find any good audio samples to assess the characher of the new Marshall sound. What an "oops"! But people who had told me the DSL sound was found wanting. >>I know a guy selling an old Marshall 4204 combo or something on the Jackson forum, it is the 50 watt combo version of the 2204 head-interested? Jack. I'm afraid the shipment might be an obstacle, so I'd be quite satisfied with just a description of a model and after that I will probably find a way to get it. I can get things from Japan and from eBay. But on eBay it's more difficult due to agencies that take a comission without any warranty that I will finally receive my items.
  7. 15-50 watt amplification is allright. $1,200.00 ? Sorry, that's too much (especially if include intercontinential shipment). This one http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12297 $650+a cab for $600 will be the same $1250. Thr maximum I can pay is $1000. Yeah, this sound costs fortune.
  8. I'm looking for a combo that provides the good old Marshall sound like this: 50 Watt Plexi http://www.fulltone.com/audio/OCD_SG_Zep.mp3 http://www.fulltone.com/audio/OCD_SGdiddy.mp3 Rivera Suprema 55 http://www.guitar-world.ru/docs/audio/rive...rema55_rock.mp3 The TSL and DSL fail. The Marshall 50 Watt Plexi is no longer available and the Rivera Suprema 55 is not yet affordable (~$2000) So, are there any other means that generate similar sound? Or maybe it's better to use idea like to use a JMP-1 as a pre-amp channel. What about ADA-MP1? Laney LC15? Thanks.
