My first hamer was a P90 special that I got new from a store in Duesseldorf, Germany. It was overpriced but I loved the look of it and it was a good guitar. I realised though that I needed something with humbuckers so I traded it for an archtop standard that I sold about a year ago. Since then I decided I needed one of the early sustainblock specials. The first was a 1980 translucent red that I sold as the neck was just too thin. I had a few more and my favorite right now is the B&W special I bought from Serial (and the other one I got from Peter and sold to Barry, when I thought I could afford a sunburst). There are a couple more vintage specials that I'd love to see some pictures of like the white matching headstock special, that Bernard has and I'm sure there are a few more crazy ones... If anyone wants to part with a nice old unmolested special, give me a shout! Seems like old standards and sunbursts are just out of the picture for me with prices so high...

How is that, compared to a Jazzmaster? (I know it's almost a jazzmaster but different brifge and verything Mr. Mascis loves, including purple )

I think I might have done that too when I became a member. It was all about a vintage special back then...

I love pre-dinged PRS's. Immediately makes it easy to treat it like a tool instead of some work of art. My #1 PRS got a couple of new dings on the headstock when I moved into this house... courtesy of a low ceiling and a ceiling fan. Sounds like you had a good time!!!

I got F.U.C.K. for my birthday too and the first Iron Maiden. I just found out I was seventeen then... Van Halen killed my right ear when I saw them live for the first time and I wasn't smart enough to see a doc afterwards. When I'm in a bar/ concert today and people talk to me the gotta talk to da left ear da right is too deaf

The first album I got was: "F.U.C.K." and I loved it!!! When I started buying all the other ones "Van Halen" became my favorite although "II", "Fair Warning" and "Women and Children first" are fantastic too. ...and I still listen to F.U.C.K.

If it was priced by a crackhead it would be much cheaper!

Where's the white matching headstock special that I'm so jelaous of?

I'm not a fan of GC either but I was looking for a vintage jazzmaster and they made me a great offer (Incl. the case)!!! I didn't go for it as I ended up buying another hamer instead of another vintage jazzmaster but the the deal was great!!! So I guess it depends but I saw the green hamer too and I loved the colour...well done!!!!

Just had a look at ebay. Vintages JMs very very expensive and still have replacements. Crazy!!! Still want another one though but I guess it takes a while... Also still looking for a vintage hamer special with checkerboard logo.. Life´s tough on me these days...

I AGREE. Also the seafoam fender looks fantastic too. But I´m into vintage guitars these days. So should you come across a vintage Fender JM or a Hamer Special I´d be very happy to know... Listening to the new "Dinosaur Jr" makes me wanna own a matching headstock vintage JM...Arrrgghhh.. J M ascis J azz M aster...
