  1. I'd not seen one of those before. Do you feel that the lack of holes altered the 335 recipe much? Easier to get to the electronics!
  2. Thanks for posting that.
  3. ^ Yours is definitely the exception when making comparisons with 335s. I'd be most interested to compare the PiratePro with its closer rivals:
  4. I watch the SA market pretty closely (ebay), and 2200s rarely sell below 1K unless they're heavily played examples.
  5. Good price going on this SA2200: http://cgi.ebay.com/Hollow-body-Electric-G...id=p3286.c0.m14
  6. I don't have a Pro, though I've got a regular spruce version fitted with buckers. I've also got a maple topped Newport to compare with my SA1000. The first point to stress is that Newports (in any configuration) don't sound much like 335s. The 'ports have an open acoustic quality that is far less compressed (less punch and sustain too). I'm not particularly keen on the sound of the spruce newport when overdriven, as it's seems better suited to chimey/jazzy cleans. On the other hand, the maple topped Newport has more punch and sustain - though retains a bitey (Gretschy) snarl even when fitted with buckers. If you want that distinctive complex 335 overdriven sound you won't find it in a Newport (or CS-336 for that matter.) I'm super pleased with my Yamaha SA - it replaced a '95 335 reissue that I had for the best part of a decade. Amazing quality, and they can still be snapped up for relatively few $$$.
  7. Hey santellavision, is that an uncovered Fralin Blues Special in the neck position? I love the clarity of that pup.
  8. Custom Shop Nocaster Thinline CIJ '55
  9. Apologies for the gravedig... Did anybody around here manage to snag this? If so, I'd love to know how it turned out.
  10. A very happy birthday to the both of you!
  11. Oops, now I understand. It sure is a sweet one: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.p...c=14322&hl=
  12. Pardon my ignorance - but where?
  13. Looks like I'm late to the party. Glad it worked out well!
  14. Wish I'd seen Page and Plant during the Walking into Clarksdale era. Perhaps it's too late now.
  15. Don't know if it's available, though here's your old Elite. Click the pic:
  16. Gee he's looking skinny- check out that arm.
  17. For those in the know, when did the transition from thin veneer to thicker maple cap take place?
  18. Perhaps because Uncle Greg's camera was specced at about .2 of a megapixel back in '99. I'd take the orange over the green. Thanks for the link, veatch.
  19. What's the spec on the LTD version? BTW, great looking EM you've got there. Sorry, couldn't resist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8h-R8FUKKI --
  20. I suppose the 25th Anni run must have been on a different scale altogether - they seem to be very common.
  21. That's the first 30th I've seen on the HFC (thanks for sharing). Do you know how many were made? Stunning. As featured in the designer gallery no less!
  22. Perhaps you're looking for the Custom Order thread? I find these medium sized runs to be quite interesting. Nice one Conrad! I see some redwood in my future... --
  23. Hey all, I've got a line on a 25th Anniversary Artist, and I thought it would be interesting to see some of the limited models that reside on the HFC. Let's see what you've got!
  24. Hey bobbymack, got any other pics of EM #1?
