I'm back on my every-so-often hunt for an f-holed Hamer, preferably with an ebony board. Naturally the best ones I've sold here are no longer coming back (I asked all of them). I see the M3 on Reverb, but not that one. Monaco III? Monaco Monaco? Newport Pro? Joe G's Newport Pro? Disturber's M3? Any of my four Newport 90s? I remember when I thought those glorious days would never end; an endless stream of fine Hamers available at all times. Sigh. Help? ETA: Would consider a fine example of a Robin Savoy as well.

Sold. Thank you. --- This was my first real Hamer, and it's come back to me (to sell, as would be expected). Very good overall condition. One small nick through the finish near the knobs (see photos) Back of guitar has many indentations and overall signs of playing wear, though nothing through the finish. See photos, but this is hard to photograph. Approx 8.5 lbs Includes OHSC, etc. I've been away from this stuff for a long time now, so I don't know how to price it. Let me know if I'm off base. I'm easy to talk to. Asking $2400 shipped. Thanks for looking, and please let me know if you have any questions.

<SOLD> I recently bought a book online, and the seller also included this one for free! I'm not sure he knows what he had here. Anyone want it? Price is $350 + shipping.

Much love to my Montana Redneck friends

I like it. Thanks for sharing. ETA that the official video is pretty great too. -
It will live. It's just sad and I needed to share among friends. This guitar is a bit of a sentimental/special one, so it hurts a bit more than usual. It'll be fine in the end. There are a couple of tricky parts to this particular repair, but nothing too complicated. The builder has kindly offered to make and send a new bridge to me. Hopefully the soundboard crack doesn't need any splinting, as the top has a bit of UV aging that could be tough to match. If just cleats, it should be able to be repaired near invisibly. I know a guy who knows a guy that will keep its provenance intact. I think the universe was just trying to encourage me to keep this guitar forever by making a huge dent in its resale value. That was my plan anyway, but this helps fight future temptation. G Man, I live in a desert, so we don't ever have good seasons. My guitar lives in a nicely sealed temp/humidity monitored case except when it's out for practice sessions. I'm a Boveda man myself - I suspect D'addario is just rebranding these and marking them up a few bucks, but I could also just be making that up. Thanks for all the helpful support. Today is already better than yesterday. I'll be hearing that sound in my dreams for a while though.

The bridge decided it had enough. The lovely guitar was just sitting there on its stand, and I heard 'creak....POW!' It's a shame that it decided to take the soundboard along with it on the damages.

Ben Woods was a masterful musician (check out both his traditional flamenco and Flametal stuff if you're interested). He died much too young a couple of years ago. In any case, perhaps a couple of you will enjoy this. I dig it.

My new none-more-signature OD/Boost pedal

That is ridiculous and amazing. You deserve it. I love seeing stuff like this. A gift from one of my favorite people to another of my favorite people. -
What’s your 2nd favorite guitar brand after Hamer?

I was actually going to say Fender. -
You guys are the best - thanks. I just got home from my first lesson. He's a rather different teacher from any before. He perceptively identified where I need initial help and what to work on at the start, and I agree. Hard to summarize an hour, and you wouldn't want me to anyway, but I like him so I've got a teacher now. He has a Buscarino, so bonus points there. Things are looking up.

Looking for some shared regrets here. It occurred to me about a month ago that I hadn't picked up a guitar in roughly ten years. Life has calmed a bit, so I have decided that I want to get back to it. Picking up the guitar a couple of weeks ago was well beyond disappointing. I can barely hack beginner pieces. Any knowledge of theory I had been building seems to have run out my ears. I'm missing strings, flubbing notes...well, you get it. It's frustrating. At one point I was pretty good at some things - not HFC-good mind you, but I could find my way around a nylon string guitar in a non-embarassing way. I didn't start guitar until I was 27, but I worked consistently at it for a long time, and it was satisfying to see the progress. I found a local teacher who I think has what I want and can help me out, and my first lesson is tonight. I'm a 54yo man, and I'm nervous about this. I find this odd. I know some things will come back relatively quickly, and some things are gone, and that's fine. I'm at where I'm at, and that's okay. Clearly it would have been better to at least keep my hands on the guitar a little from day to day. No real point here except to flog myself in public and ask you to do the same (or warn you not to do what I did). Anyone else do this? Did you recover from it? Clever and inspiring witticisms appreciated. Edited to add: ...and my shoulder aches, and my fingers don't stretch so well, and my fingertips hurt. Woe is me. Thanks for listening.
