  1. Yeah - "Man Notes" doesn't have the same ring to it.
  2. I want to be 'Officiando!'
  3. Man, the subject line of this thread is some blatantly false advertising.
  4. Otanjoubi Omedetou Gozaimasu!
  5. Crap - does pussified classical guitar count?
  6. 1) Partita #2 BWV1004 played by Manuel Barrueco 2) Scherzo-vals played by Stefano Grondona 3) The Way to Heaven, Buckethead 4) Poison was the Cure, Megadeth 5) Sonata romantica (Homage to F. Schubert): III. Allegretto Vivo played by Ana Vidovic (<-- hot cg chick, btw) 6) Mouth for War, Pantera 7) c** sancto spiritu de la missa de la fuga de Josquin [tercero libro] played by Hopkinson Smith (on Vihuela!) 8) Which Way Del Vecchio, Chet Atkins 9) Crawling from the Wreckage, Dave Edmunds 10) Where are you tonight? Cowboy Junkies Cool thread! Fun listening, too. I must do this more often. I don't have an iPod, but I use iTunes - close enough. Edited to add my props at our profanity filter for blocking out that horrid Latin word in the Narvaez piece.
  7. Wait! Hold on! What the heck is this quote in mathman's post?! "QUOTE(Eagleye1 @ Jul 6 2007, 12:06 PM) Well, of course, this is just the sort of blinkered philistine pig-ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage. You sit there on your loathsome spotty behinds squeezing blackheads, not caring a tinker's cuss for the struggling artist. You excrement, you whining hypocritical toadies with your colour TV sets and your USA only Hamer Guitars (USA Parts on Hamer imports DON'T COUNT) and your bleeding HFC secret handshakes. You wouldn't let me join, would you, you blackballing bastards. Well I wouldn't become a Hamerfanclub forum member now if you went down on your lousy stinking knees and begged me....................Eagleye" I just want to make sure this important commentary is not glossed over here.
  8. Wow - he went straight from "Validating" to "Banned." That's got to be some kind of record.
  9. I blame myself.
  10. It's hard to get any studying done in there. The few times I've gone those waitresses in their skimpy schoolgirl outfits have hopped up on the bar and started dancing. Really distracting. All of Mill Ave is pretty cool if you're into the drunken college girl thing. The main drag in Scottsdale is good for the drunken rich chick silicone/collagen scene. You like flamenco at all? A decent restaurant with an amateur flamenco show every weekend is Pepin in Scottsdale. Depending on the night, there is another pseudo-flamenco troupe that plays the Hyatt Gainey Ranch resort, which is very nice. You may know it as the launching pad of my classical guitar hero, Esteban. We'll dig up some real rock for you...
  11. Last night at 9:20 p.m. we enjoyed the fireworks at Tempe Town Lake. 111°F. It's rough, but you kinda get used to it after that human temperature comfort module in your brain is finally killed (takes about one summer). What kind of music do you like? Gear, not so much to see in the city, but I can probably dig up an entertainment calendar and list of ok clubs if you provide the dates. More later. ~mitch
  12. What you don't seem to understand is that is a special bike, custom built to his own specifications by the greatest, yet unknown, builders on the planet. He's probably disgusted by all the idiots who drive the crap that the big overpriced respectable companies put out. He's also not selling out to corporate haircut man either.
  13. MezzhüggaH , don't forget umlauts. It just occured to me that we are on page four with no mention of His Royal Highness Dave Matthews.
  14. My first was accompanied by the New Age music that came with my 'Extra Flexibility through Yoga' video. Original question brings to mind Alanis Morrisette as one of the peaks of naive pretentious bitchdom. Oh! And 'When the Children Cry' by White Lion. Guy solved all the world's problems from behind his mic - "No more presidents / and all the wars will end." Brilliant.
  15. That could explain the presence of only him and one other salesman when I went a few weeks ago. It's a sad loss for the guitar community, but at least it will be replaced with salespeople of another industry held in like esteem.
  16. On a more serious note, this song always makes me think of my father. He did nearly three consecutive terms in Vietnam and was given two weeks back home to be there when I was born. He said he almost deserted after that. Vietnam screwed him up for long time and he still won't talk about it or watch a war movie. Plus, the song rocks.
  17. The 'bands that went nowhere' thread got me missing some cool old tunes: Drivin' N' Cryin' and one of my favs from them: Straight to Hell
  18. Got em' both...cool band. The Judybats was another band I liked, same thing, got steamrollered by the whole Nirvana thing... Judybats! A name I haven't heard in awhile...as a young dude at the University of Tennessee, I saw and hung out with them a few times, as they were a local small club band. Good memories.
  19. Atquinn, You might want to snag this, too, and it's cheap... Cali Ad - $3
  20. I love this. What do you suppose the offspring of a bass and a human looks like? Chicken Pickin' on a cool tune (Buckethead): Knopfler playing with soul: Brothers in Arms And one of my all-time heroes playing one of my all-time favorite fugues: -mitch
