  1. I loved playing there, great room.
  2. Stike's gene pool is from Iredell county, so he has the edge. But I'm adopted . My gene pool is Eastern Shore MD hippies. Having visted the area it looks pretty much like Stony Point but flatter so............
  3. http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/05/26/1226259/pitmaster-ed-mitchell-leaves-raleighs.html I ate there a couple times while Ed was pitmaster, it was good but didn't floor me.
  4. Always and forever.
  5. Actually The Pit by most accounts is good. It's usually packed but count me as one of the folks that doesn't get down with a BBQ restaurant that's been all fancied up. Google Poole's Diner and Mo's Diner.
  6. Some of those old J5 songs kick ass.
  7. Love it. It's the only way I'll tweak my 1101 unless it's a gig/emergency and I've even considered loading X Edit into my netbook for gig/rehersal tweaks.
  8. Bummer there were no feeds from the standup tent, they had some great comics this year.
  9. As far as the best price to tone ratio ( especially used ) I love my Digitech GSP 1101.
  10. Yes but that looks like it was done AT somebodys house if not a schoolhouse.
  11. was originaly trans red cherry lacquer finish. Sometime in its life, a previous owner did not appreciate the original finish and decided to strip it and go all natural... with a brush on shellac.... Shellac is some of the hardest application to remove, never 100% gone, and wrecks havoc on a new application... and the applicator! Quite the rabbit hole this will be, A true pepsi challenge. Goddamn 70's
  12. Q.-Any cork-sniffing beliefs and practices? A. Me? I sure fucking hope not!
  13. I have not seen any You Tube videos from this tour of an obviously fucked up Eddie playing terribly (unlike the last tour) so I'll speculate egos or illness?
  14. Hey, I have one of those for sale posted on this very board!
  15. Digitech GSP1101 with a SS Rocktron Velocity 300 power amp here.
  16. The only way to do this is to take a high resolution photograph of the original headstock decal, clean it up in photoshop and then render a vector file. Stike's All Out Graphics dude is pretty cool. His name is Manfred Schlager and he does some really fine work... he's affordable too. This is okay but... it's angled a bit away from the camera, you want the decal exactly parallel to the camera lens so no distortion occurs (it can be fixed in PS but it's always better if you don't have to) and you want the photograph to be at least 8 megapixels 'cause we are going to be converting from pixel to vector and you need the highest resolution possible for the least amount of aliasing to occur. The A5 is the same font as the U.S.A. just smaller and in bold... the Phantom font is bizarre and looks to be custom but there might be some printing experts out there who might know the exact name of the font or could suggest a comparable. Thanks for the reply. I took lots of photos of the guitar and headstock, but it's been stripped at this point. And an iPhone pic won't get me that kinda resolution, so looks like I might be contacting this gentlemen you mentioned. I had Manfred make me a small sheet of A5 logos but I think they've all been used or damaged. There's a small chance he might still have that art on file but that was awhile ago so he might have gotten rid of it by now. Let me look around my hard drive to see if I still have the vector art of that logo. If I do I'll send you a copy that you can send to him.
  17. But wait ya'll, he has ANOTHER "dubleneck" in process! So when are the korina fetishists going to start going apeshit because that body got an opaque finish?
  18. Well that's what he looked like in that YouTube video of his solo spot in Vegas on the 2008 tour but then again Chad Kroger has longer hair................
  19. We all want classic Van Halen. However (as Muse pointed out with the 18-year-old brain comment), that means Diamond Dave and Eddie in their 20's, spandex pants, pinstriped guitars, Michael Anthony on bass, amp jumps, wire stunts... the whole 9 yards. While we're at it, I'D like to be in my 20's again. I think any of us of a certain age would sign up for that in a minute. The reality of the situation is that this is what we have: a V/H that is older, sober, and has nothing to prove. I don't know. After years and years of almost no recorded output, well documented substance abuse problems, and the total fucking over of a bandmate of 30 years I would hope the band and Ed has something to prove. I'll disagree with the age. AC/DC ( I beleive a few members are into their 60's) on the Black Ice tour while sounding great still had the "edge" or whatever you want to call it. I saw Link Wray not too long before his death and that old man also absolutely brought it. I've listened to Tattoo a few times and I don't hate it but I can't get really excited about it either. Maybe after 20 + years of not really enjoying much of anything VH has done and developing a pretty good lack of respect for Ed as a person it's more me than the song?
  20. He has other videos that are equally awesome
  21. What about his bad ass leather duster?
  22. Color picked yet?
  23. Cant wait for this one!
