  1. Prices are rising for those late 70s Sunbursts, we all know that, it started years ago. That natural '79 on Reverb is 3.5 K with the "make offer" available. That means you may get it for about 3 k. Is it too much? Well, it's more than what you paid years ago for your '79 Sunburst, but it's less than what you will pay in the years to come, so it would be a safe investment. I have a very similar Sunburst, a natural '79 with amazing flame top. Would I sell it for 3 K? No way. I could only get one of those lower budget custom shop with that money, but I would put my Sunburst against ANY custom shop ANY day.
  2. One for the americans... https://reverb.com/item/87298054-hamer-sunburst-1979-black ... and one for the europeans: https://reverb.com/item/86319073-hamer-sunburst-from-1979-in-natural-with-original-hardcase
  3. Yeah, you're right, the cleaning is the first thing to carry out... let's see if I can sort this out without a replacement, but if not I will. This guitar is a beauty, but I need a "player grade" one, I'm not a collector. Absolutely only compliant tuners, go figure if I put new holes in a vintage guitar like this. Thanks fot the link from Reverb. I'm located in Europe so I will keep an eye (or better... a bulleye) on closer deals first... let's see.
  4. I've found this and read the first comment 😁😁😁 When you say in case you'd replace them with bulleyes, do you mean vintage tuners or brand new? It's a vintage guitar, sacrilege!!
  5. 😁 Yeah, they're all some good advices. I'm good at setting up a guitar with truss rod, strings action, ect. but I never had anything to do with tuners so I'm a complete nubby on this! Thanks a lot.
  6. This is like mine, really similar, and has the same tuners: https://guitarpoint.de/product/1979-hamer-sunburst-natural-flametop-rare/ So I believe they were original by Hamer back then.
  7. The tuning problems are about on all, it's a general feeling that you can't fine regulating them. Will check what you said though, thanks a lot. That's a good source, thank you very much.
  8. Hi all, I have some tuning problems on a ‘79 Sunburst; I don't know much about its past but I believe the tuners are original. When playing I have to keep correcting the tuning, and the movement of the tuners does not seem smooth. Perhaps they would need some maintenance, has anyone had any experience and can advise me on anything? Thanks
  9. The two piece top and the gold bridge gives her a different appeal than the late 70s/early 80s sunbursts we use to know. I mean in a good way, it's really a beauty.
  10. Watched that last night, same thoughts about the pics filtering. Surely it's a beauty, what's the point in doing that.
  11. Larger? I may like this neck more, but I don't think I would trade my '79 sunburst for one of this. Even if more valuable due to the few built, for me a reissue is always second to the original.
  12. We'll never know, it did not even allow the make offer, quite pricey. But if there are so few it is to be expected that they are more collectable than an original one from the '70s.
  13. Really better than a '79? https://reverb.com/it/item/84101258-hamer-sunburst-sb99-1-of-9
  14. Good to know!Mi faro sentire! Whenever you like ! Fatti sentire !
  15. I am located in Italy if any help needed...
