It also looks like there were a 2-hole TRC as well as a bell 3-hole one. This pics shows two 78s, only 2 serial nrs. away from each other (both are Hamer Dave's). The left one was the one I snatched in Germany and sent it over the pond „back home“. All 3 screwholes in the headstock underneath were original, not any hint of a later change from 2 to 3.

I've purchased my Quad Cortex from these guys for a good/regular price as soon as it was available. It's a brick & mortar music shop that once was a Hamer dealer, too. Prices are all way up, way higher than usual online sale-prices. For years they offered new Hamer guitars, long after the closing of New Hartford. So, there were always some likable feelings toward them. Where THIS price may come from – I don't know!

Some of these Standards did have real PAFs from the beginning. That was mentioned in the video, too. Would have been an interesting comparison and a fair competition.

Them guys talking back & forth about an interesting acoustic and electric shootout between an early Dean Elite and Tom's 58 Burst. Both of the guitars sport Gibson PAFs. A bit of philosophing about Dean, BC Rich and Hamer being strong contenders to Gibson in the late 70s and early 80s by people that know a thing or two about guitars. Well worth watching the conversation any minute.

Wait til you see her other sister 80362. I hope, the new owner will chime in with his own pics, once 80360 has arrived. I am curious as well (and hell!) to see pics that compare 80358, 80360 and 80362. A very special bunch of 78 Sunbursts!

10 - 14 may be more likely. US customs are serious examiners, too 😉 As the ancient HFC saying goes: We are enablers. Have learnt a lot today at German customs. Were friendly people there, too. Normally, they've to deal with cranky Serbian, Bulgarian or Russian truckers, who do not speak any word German nor English, who have truckloads of dead pigs, aluminum profiles or tons of bricks to declare. A polite and patient guitar-nerd with his beautiful electric guitar is the highlight of the month for them. Such were the necessary paperworks as of today:
