  1. DiMarzio, weren't it?
  2. 😂 I am absolutely certain of the weight when I posted. Your post was no more than an hour later and it had gained nearly a pound! Put. Down. The Fork! ...or chopstick, as it were...
  3. I don't think we've discussed this one. Vintage Hamer SS1 Steve Stevens Prototype Red 1985 | Cream City Music Not a bad price, relatively speaking. In the ubiquitous Candy Apple Red. 7lbs 15 oz. ETA: Weight seems to be... evolving... 🙃
  4. Fart Room? "Where was that?" says my wife, who drove the impromptu "fart car" home from my procedure! 😅
  5. I don't know if they misjudged my body weight or if they gave me the same amount of pipe flush to everyone regardless of size, but I passed unimaginable amounts of water for hours. After hours (and hours) of passing nothing but water, I had to consider, "what's the point?" I went into the clinic for the actual colonoscopy and, no lie, as they were putting me to sleep my cheeks were firmly clinched holding back the flood. I am convinced as soon as I was out, I had to have absolutely flooded the place ("cleanup on isle 5!").
  6. Here's an equivalent(-ish, -esque) Burny sans fancy veneer for $2,000, if that gives any indication. I was watching this one because of the larger (0.875" first fret) neck, knowing all along I cannot get along with the body shape, but I digress.
  7. Is it just me, or does $2,400 seem somewhat reasonable (relatively speaking)? ETA: appending to our other thread - 1988 and center placement of the strap button.
  8. When I was in college, my Venezuelan roommate had Animal Husbandry Class and he was recounting (with fantastic accent) how, to check for a cow being pregnant one had to first, with a water hose, "clean the canal" followed by reaching up the cow's arse and checking for a calf - endless teasing ensued as I accused him of having too short a glove and a resulting brown ring around his upper arm, but I digress... Flash forward to my wife's colonoscopy (no, I'm in no way comparing my wife to a cow) a couple of months back. Her prep, unlike mine of eight years ago, consisted of a mild laxative, then showing up at a "prep unit" where they basically 'cleaned the canal' with some sort of device she attempted to describe as "like getting on a motorcycle only with one's torso laying out flat on the tank." This took only around fifteen to thirty minutes, and she then moved immediately to the colonoscopy room next door and underwent the procedure. This seemed so much easier than what I went through, crapping myself inside out for a good twelve hours prior the procedure, I'm strongly considering switching doctors for my second just because the clinic for my first does not offer this option.
  9. I keep coming back to look at this and genuinely tempted. The only thing that gives me pause is the basswood body. Well, that and the Floyd Rose. And the thin neck, and the relicing. Other than that, I'm really teetering on the brink. 🙃 But seriously, I do have three sets of unused Strat and Strat-adjacent (the TV Jones Classics out of the Stretschocaster experiment) pickups not in use. That Gilmour set could be fun in that. Interestingly, there are 44 Used ones on Reverb right now, the cheapest of which is listed for $899.99
  10. Great report! Are they selling T-Shirts like the guy has in the first photo? I need one in M, only with the yellow part reading, "extremely annoying" 😉
  11. If I hadn't sold off every single neck-heavy guitar I've ever owned (hate headstock dive), it would be a cool experiment to try on, say, an SG or an EB-0.
  12. Both my '80 Special and '83 Phantom were done that way - notable improvement over center-placed. The Phantom, with its 'Stratesque' body carve, was the most comfortable guitar I've ever played. No idea when it started / stopped, but it was a great idea. The Senior (2003 CO Special) was not offset.
  13. ^^Cool 60's Dove with the adjustable bridge and narrow nut.^^
  14. Given the events of May, 2010, what are the odds everyone is emptying gear storage in Nash Vegas today?
  15. Oddly, I am in complete agreement with all five artists on all five songs.
  16. The Tech Rider in the contract for a band we had in our church last October termed these "confidence screens." 🙃
  17. First thing I thought of when I saw it was, where was this design in 1978? Would have been perfect for "Rock Lobster" or "Planet Claire!"
  18. I remember that guy / band! The videos were amazing! Was that 14 years ago?!
  19. Stupid question from the Captain Obvious corner: do you think of the tunes in Nashville Numbering? Everyone's mind is different, so it may be easier for you to remember the song is a 1-6-4-5 (aren't they all) with a 1-5-1-5 bridge rather than remember G-Em-C-D and the bridge is G-D-G-D. Obvious, but on the odd chance you haven't tried that it might help. There was a Hillsong song we used to do live and I never could get the chorus right - it was absolutely random (didn't resolve). Numbers might have helped, but that was before I'd gotten into all that.
  20. Might try different brands. I am an Optimum Nutrition fanboi, so protein and creatine from ON, but when the prices kicked up, I tried various cheapie brands from Amazon - that didn't work out so well. My son (22) got me on the convenience of the ON 2500mg capsules (two per day) rather than trying to down the chalky mess that never fully dissolves. It's more money but much easier than scooping and mixing at 5:30 in the morning.
  21. (Other than Prevagen advertising) everything I read about Prevagen seems to indicate it's not the silver bullet it claims to be. ** PURELY ANECTDOTAL - I AM NOT A DOCTOR NOR DO I EVEN PLAY ONE ON TV ** Have you ever tried Creatine supplementation? I tried on three occasions but the first two times I failed to hydrate sufficiently and got random cramps (I never cramp, even when I was running marathons and riding 100+ mile bike rides). At any rate, now that I got the hydration piece right, I can't see getting off Creatine. I started taking it for faster recovery lifting weights (Creating facilitates the Krebs Cycle), but the unintended consequence has been absolutely clearer thinking and almost complete elimination of procrastination (never was a huge procrastinator, but it's been tremendous there, too). Here's an NIH abstract on the topic. There's tons of additional anecdotal evidence and interesting experiments ongoing with dementia patients. If you're up for an experiment, there really aren't any drawbacks. Creatine is the most researched supplement in existence, it's a natural chemical produced by the body and there aren't any negative side effects. It's cheap (not as cheap as it was before COVID, but cheap) and readily available. [/sales pitch] ETA: here's a recent video from Tanner Shuck that talks about it (LANGUAGE WARNING FOR THE KIDS/GRANDKIDS)
  22. Saw Unka Greg post about that on IG maybe last week. He seemed very excited. Really cool and unique design.
  23. The Book Don't recall a specific Navaro reference, but it's definitely a great book to own.
  24. ^^Those look fantastic (I really like split shaft tuners). I went with Hipshot Grip-Locks on my partscaster. They're staggered, so no string trees, and locking (if you're into that). They also have this really cool mounting option if you don't want to drill more holes.
  25. Yeah, that's actually cigarette / age-related white. 😂 The script is cut through the black layer to reveal the white (now "ish") layer. The truss rod covers are amazingly hard to come by. They're seemingly always missing on these.
