  1. But didn't Ed get the black and white design from the Dils' guitarist (a Les Paul IIRC)? Amazing how much time I've "invested" reading about one guitar!
  2. Don't think this has been posted. One guy's opinion (it popped up in the array right after the PhilX video in the other thread):
  3. Enjoyed that immensely. Thanks for posting. ETA: the thought of an SG with a bit thicker body, a '56 Les Paul neck and the strap button on the horn sounds very attractive, especially at an Epiphone price point.
  4. Cool setup: Keeley's boxes in this format are amazing and sound fantastic. I had the Delay Workstation in this series, and it was consistently amazing.
  5. DISCLOSURE: I AM NOT AN ACCOUNTANT AND AM NOT PROVIDING TAX ADVICE. CONSULT YOUR TAX PROFESSIONAL FOR TAX ADVICE. Um, if you sell something, your sale is income.
  6. Are you certain on the Danelectro scale length? My '56 with the same headstock was 25.5" scale. They made them in 25," 25.5" and a ton of them in 23."
  7. So yours was a rhetorical question? Didn't seem so. My bad.
  8. Explore (top right) Drop-Down > Price Guide
  9. I take that to mean everyone was having so much fun no one thought to get a photo. You know, like things were before devices became ubiquitous?
  10. Absolutely loved that movie. Yes, the cars were completely off-the-charts unrealistic (IMO, "American Grafiti" got the cars exactly right), but it's a treat just to watch the car show, realistic or not.
  11. I missed all that. Would have enjoyed that immensely.
  12. I still have a running Search on Reverb for these... ... and after a year I still have had nothing turn up...
  13. I have to say, I disliked the halftime program (finding it non-musical, at best), but I didn't hate the halftime program until I got to work Monday and was told the backstory. (one of) My point(s) in the prior post was it is incredibly self-serving, immature, nearsighted, narrow-minded, small, of an artist to squander the opportunity to perform before one of the largest television audiences available to one-up your rival rather than entertain (again, assuming my kids are correct and that Mr. Lamar is indeed talented - Sunday night did not bolster that opinion (in my opinion)).
  14. I was immediately put off the whole affair when it opened with the protagonist standing (¡standing!) on the hood of a Grand National. Honestly, Prince himself would likely not have been able to recover in my mind from such an idiotic pose. All I could say was, "are you kidding me?" Enjoyed SZA's tiny part - actual harmonic content! Don't care about celebrities. Don't care about their corporately generated alleged "feuds." I do enjoy symbolism, and an intriguing story expressed without words, but not when it is a myopic personal beef expressed at the opportunity cost of millions missing an entertainment opportunity (I say this with the assumption of validity for my kids' opinion that KL is genuinely talented). I discovered Sunday night I need a Sammuel L. Jackson break: he appeared in frame, and I immediately anticipated "what's in your wallet?"
  15. That is my favorite color by far. Congratulations. I have been extremely pleased with my '19 50's and I agree on the pickups - first guitar I've bought that I didn't want to change. The only mods I've made to mine were changing to 50's wiring and, very recently, the Callaham locking tailpiece setup suggested in this thread.
  16. ^^That is exactly it^^ No one could match the swing. These videos have fascinated me and I've watched them over and over again:
  17. Tell me more! I look for excuses to NOT drive to Memphis (50 minutes), but a Moroccan restaurant might leave me without a sufficient excuse!
  18. The fretwork is otherworldly on every Suhr I've ever picked up. Congratulations!
  19. Hamer USA Studio Flame Top Cherry Sunburst Used | Reverb Seems a reasonable price and in great condition.
  20. That looks pristine! What a great example and the burst is perfect.
  21. I grabbed one of these years back (I think they've been required to rebrand them "E-Lady") and it's cheap, teeny and does the Mistress thing quite convincingly. I had an original BITD. I quit using it in the 90's and couldn't give it away. I think I might have gotten $20 - $30 for it.
  22. I bought this one here on the HFC. Spectacular parts: the tone was unmistakable and fantastic, the Bigsby was a perfect match for the tone, fit and finish were very, very good. It was among the best sounding guitars I've ever owned. It seemed to do everything well. Why I sold it: 1. the necks on the production guitars range very consistently from 0.80" - 0.83" at the first fret - if you're good with that, there are tons of them out there. If you're like me and that's too thin, the only option seems to be the Custom Shop ($$$$); 2. the bridge was not pinned, and while the true fans don't mind, I didn't like having to question the intonation every time it came out of the case, lastly, 3. the "mud switch" is pretty primitive if you're a Tone control user like myself. I have also observed the weight on these seems to vary more than most. If that's important to you, you might ask first as some of these are way up in Les Paul land. All of this is my opinion from owning this one for only a couple of months. The new Player Edition Jet has a true Tone control, but also (in most examples) a rosewood fretboard (rather than ebony, as above), the Bigsby B-7 rather than the B-3 pictured above (some purists don't care for that substitution) and an anchored (i.e., studs into the body) TOM-esque bridge. I'm watching for a Player Edition that maybe escaped the neck scraper a little early and that weighs around 8lbs.
  23. It's the only one I've kept because it's the only one that doesn't annoy me after three minutes. The separate Low and Hi (sic) controls allow me to get exactly what I'm looking for. Before I bought it, I had concluded Vibe just wasn't for me. The most hope I had was on the Earthquaker "The Depths," but I found even that annoying. Vibronaut can be extremely subtle (and that's what I was after), but can go full-on Robin Trower if needed.
  24. Thought I remembered this: Historic? Sure. Reprehensible? Absolutely. The perp's name was John Noose (1:30). Man, just find a lefty or play righty. Stop guitar savagery!
