  1. Thanks for the tip...I had no idea and will be checking this out... They didn't fade away, actually. Shad Hills changed the name to Stereo 360, and they put out a great CD in 2002 called Enjoy Your Lfe Poolside (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/stereo360 has some samples) Every song on that CD is fantastic. Here is the one video they did: The first time I met Pam and the Cheap Chick gals, they were opening for Stereo 360 at Spaceland in LA. These guys should have been huge, and their music is just like many of the guitar-pop bands mentioned on this thread that somehow just didn't make it. How "Jimmy eat World" cracked the big time and these guys didn't is a travesty. Shad is a brilliant songwriter and has had many bites at the "big time" apple, but his reputation in the business has been weathered a little bit.
  2. Cool for August...they had a huge hit with "Walk Away"...then faded away...
  3. Sorry...should have been more specific...I play mostly classic rock. My other PUPs of choice have been Rio Grand BBQ/Texas in my Artist, BBQ/SD59 in my Studio, Pearly Gates in a custom shredder-type guitar, and stock Wolfgang PUPs in my Wolfgangs. I guess, with exception to the Wolfgang PUPs, I like a milder pickup that still has the ability to put the power out if I need it. I like the BBQ, but am not quite sure it would sound as well in the Steinberger as say, a Muy Grande...I think I'm thinking too much about the make-up of the guitar...different tone woods than I am used to and certainly the graphite neck...all of that has to make a difference, but I just don't want to get stuck with the wrong choice. Thanks, E
  4. OK...so, I'll admit it...I have other guitars besides my Hamers, but, they don't get much play. I recently rediscovered my Steinberger...M series with TransTrem...it has stock EMG's in it...I can't stand how sterile they are...there's no life in them...so, I am looking for something new for this guitar. It has a HSH configuration, although, I am not against just changing the buckers out and not using the middle PUP...it just gets in the way of my picking...so...any thoughts? The guitar has an alder body with a maple cap and the Steinberger blend neck...if that makes any difference. Thanks, Erik
  5. Well...sold the 1995 Studio to Mario to buy the 1998 Artist Custom from BCR Greg...then bought an 83 Special, which I later sold to Hamerhead to make room in the barn for my 1995 Studio to return home...
  6. 1995 Studio...now owned by fellow HFCr Mario...I absolutely LOVED the top on this one...Mario...if you ever decide to sell...contact me first please :-)
  7. Thanks for the replies...I just found out that the one I am looking at has had the headstock repaired...and the luthier who did the paint job coated the back of the headstock in black...not the cherry color that it was originally...so it looks terrible...other than that HUGE issue...the guitar seems to be in pretty decent shape with the usual nicks in it from being 20+ years old...any other thoughts on the price now? I've been told to make an offer...but I guess I don't know what's fair for one like this.
  8. I am just curious to know if anyone here can provide me with some information on 82 Specials. First, I'm curious to know what the neck profiles are like? I used to have a 95 Studio, which seemed to have a thinner neck and am now in posession of a 1998 BCR Burst Artist...and the neck is beefy, which I really prefer. Second, what seems to be the going value for one that is mint? I can't find anyting around to do some comparrisons. Thanks for the assistance. Erik
