Not really new but I found the Dana Fuchs band recently. Check out her website. If you've ever seen Across the Universe she was Sexy Sade. Real good voice in the realm of Joplin, some tasty guitar playing going on as well. I'm not sure who the guitarists are on the record, but they have some great tone and some nice chops.

Thank you Sir, may I have another?!?!

My first good guitar was a Blitz way back in 1985. I absolutely adore the blitz. My back, on the other hand, despises the blitz. My back overruled my heart on this one. Go ahead, call me a wuss.

Is this really a import Hamer?

Love the color. I had a blitz stolen from me in the early 90's that was the same color. -
I'm working a deal on a guitar that has a reverse headstock, which I hate reverse headstocks, and want to switch it out. I've found a good deal on the correct neck, but the width at the nut is different. The guitar currrently is 1 11/16", the replacement neck is 1 5/8". The Heels are the same size, so the neck pocket should fit ok. Will this cause spacing problems at the bridge or will everything fit ok?

Vintage '80 Hamer Sunburst
Imiss85 replied to BadJaxx's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
already sold an amp and cab and some pedals...nothing else to sell...have had to buy a lot of stuff to furnish my apt... I believe I owned that one a few years back, if so it was an awesome piece. Even with the thinner neck, it played wonderfully, sounded better. It always bothered me they put the mini toggle in and didn't use a push pull pot instead. -
I don't really need to sell it, but I think I want to move it. Very good condition as you can see by the pics. A few light scratches here and there, nothing unusual for a played guitar. Never giged. This is a nice LP for the Price. The opening A Chord to Van Halens Drop Dead Legs. -
About time too. Will be intersting, I'd love to see Dave and Sam try to share a stage. Doubt it will happen that way, but definately will be interesting.

Anyone use Hot rails type pickup in a strat?
Imiss85 replied to Imiss85's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Well went to Dimarzio's site from the link Freak provided, and it appears that the Fast track 2 may be what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the advice guys. -
I'm thinking my strat needs to be beefed up a little bit, and may buy a single coil sized HB. Anyone have any experience with these types? Do they really sound like a full sized HB? What about getting the that second swtich selector quack sound, is it even close, or can it be coil tapped? Any particular brands you found sound good for the classic rock type bite?

I've found a happy medium - Pod XT Live with an atomic reactor. SS computer technology, ton of amp sims, and the atomic is tube driven so it adds the sag, and really moves the air with a ton of bottom end. No, it's not a JCM 800, or a Fender Twin, but I can get it close enough that 99% of an audience cannot tell ( as if they knew the difference anyway). And, who in an audience is going to say... Play them side be side to convince me.

podxt or gt-8 or? what do you like best?
Imiss85 replied to cloakerz's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The secret with the Podtxt is to ignore the presets. Start a tone from scratch with all effects turned off, then work in your effects one at a time. By doing this, you'll find a sound that you like. And , keep in mind, you'll use one of the built in distortion boxes for that punch, don't try to do it with the amp alone. I agree the podxt is tough to get the hang of, but once you do it's the best hands down. -
What needs to be done to make a lefty?
Imiss85 replied to Imiss85's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Probably because a Tele would be very difficult to play upside down. The cutaways in a strat makes it easier. -

"I'm with Mike, it bugs the hell out of me to see righties playing lefty guitars cause they want to be Jimi or whatever and taking them out of circulation for those of us that are actually looking for them." As far as it goes ...FIRST, I never said I was going to buy it.. .But , since my money is just as green as anyone elses, and this is America, maybe I will. Second, if I do, It's not to look like Jimi or anyone else. It would be because I wanted to buy it. Too many people enjoy the soapbox I guess. Peace. -

very true. I'm not switching anything, but we were talking about a Lefty that was in a Pawn shop, it could be bought and turned around. Like I said, it was a 15 minute argument on the neck. He came up with this story of a tech in a shop near Chicago that had a strat that was flipped, and it warped the neck because of the string tension. Like I said, I know it was complete BS, but just wanted to be reassured. -
