  1. $150 for a fret level and setup. I don't know anybody in the immediate area but if you feel like driving to Elgin IL Scott at FatCat guitars does really good work. He's done 4 stainless steel refrets for me over the years. All have been amazing. https://www.fatcatcustomguitars.com/
  2. I've never been to the original La Crosse location but now that I live in Madison the Sun Prairie location is only a 30 minutes from me. I just had the frets leveled on my Les Paul by them. They do amazing fretwork.
  3. Never hurts to ask. My favorite tactic is to get them a low as I can go and then tell them I have my credit card in my hand. If they can take another $50 off I'll buy right now.
  4. There's a very good chance I'm going to be driving through Huntley one day next week on my way to Chicago What hours are you available
  5. Possibly interested in the V30. Where are you located?
  6. That's what I'm looking to replace with the M22SD. The C22B is a great PU. more in the vintage PAF range. I'm looking for something more aggressive. Thanks for checking.
  7. Preferably in black. Anybody have one laying around they want to get rid of?
  8. Yeah, Buddas are the loudest amps I've played thru. I used gig with an SD45 with an attenuator. My favorite was and SD18 but when I was selling off some gear I decided to keep the SD30 because it had been modded and had the 4/8/16 ohm options. My 18 only had 8/16. I had Jeff Bober put a half power switch on my SD30 but now I use a volume box in the loop. Allows me to get the MV up and I control the volume with the loop volume box. I haven't gigged my SD30 in a while but in one of my cover bands I always let the other guitarist us it at gigs. He plugs it into a Peavey 4x12 and it sounds killer.
  9. I've owned quite a few Buddas and still have one SD30 that I'll probably never part with. They are know for having a dark sounding gain channel BUT there is a very simple mod that with transform the amp into raging, fire breathing, aggressive rock machine. It's one capacitor that gets swapped out. It makes the amp much brighter, tighter and more aggressive. Stock Buddas have a lot of low mids but this mod puts the emphasis on the upper mids. That change also makes the amp louder and gives it a very cutting aggressive tone. The capacitor is proabably 25 cents and if you're good with a soldering iron you can do it yourself.. You can either swap the capacitor or like I did with mine, I added the capacitor and added a toggle switch to the back panel that allows me to switch between stock and modded modes. I've been posting about this mod for years over at TGP and everyone who's done it has really liked it. Here's a link to instructions for the mod: https://greentreeexpress.com/BuddaBriteMod.pdf Here's a couple of videos of my SD30 after the mod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMhMia4aJpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F09ZibPDn9Q
  10. I've had a couple of guitars plek'd. They came out great with the ability to get the action insanely low without any fretting out. If you're a fan of very low action you would probably appreciate having a guitar plek'd.
  11. Great deal. If you're looking for that great "Classic" 60s & 70s tone the 36th Anniversaries will do it in spades. I had a set in my old Les Paul that sounded KILLER!
  12. Unfortunately for Larry your dad needed to take a #2 in the sink. Larry later introduced the Super D II pickup with more dirt.
  13. Carvin. Here's my current lineup.
  14. No but you'd pretty much have to afford the home prices up there.
  15. Would love to be there but I'm in the process of moving to Madison. I'll be hauling stuff up there on Saturday.
  16. Just saw this from an email - $189 Carvin compact 1x12 cab loaded with an Eminence 100 watt speaker. Cab is made from plywood, no MDF. It's currently on sale for $199 but if you use coupon code WELCOME10 it brings the price down to 189. Shipping to my place in WI is $26 making it $$215 delivered. Great deal if you're looking compact, portable 1x12 cab. https://carvinaudio.com/products/v112e-100w-guitar-extension-cabinet
  17. Sounds like fun. Not sure if I can make it. I used to drive through Marengo 5 days a week on my commute to work. Are you anywhere near that old sports bar where they built the new roundabout?
  18. Yep, looks like he's really playing.
  19. Thanks for sharing. GC is a great place to check for used items you're looking for.
  20. I need 3 of those. Where can I get them?
