There's a reason the newspaper industry overall is referred to as, "the dead tree media", by many bloggers. Its usually meant in a derogatory manner. I'd be super careful looking at buying this one.

Wow, that's a veritable shitload of posts - CONGRATS!

Michael - wishing you an awesome birthday! I'll call you later tonight. -
^ ^ YES ^ ^ Flitz be da Shitz! Used it for years - there are some restrictions on what you shouldn't use it on. Go to their website and check it out.

I also called Roxy's about a year ago regarding the EM Tally - a female ALWAYS answered their phone and did not know any model details or prices. Very nice, but could not field any questions - couldn't even locate the guitar to photograph it. It took several days for any returned calls from the owner - sometimes over a week, weeks for a few crappy cell phone photos of parts of the body and never could get a final price from him. His list prices were painfully high. I played that game for over a month and said screw it. Something just did not feel right. CRAP - WRONG THREAD. Sorry.

Welcome. KICKASS ENTRANCE.

Mike, So are all of the initial run Ultimate guitars (part I and part II) going to be chambered or just the first twelve Ultimate guitars - period?

FS 1976 Standard
Boomerang~Junkie replied to serial's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
OK, I've had a few hours for my brain to percolate on this sheer "Standard" madness - so I'll play. For the record, I still DO NOT get it AT ALL, but my head has stopped spinning just enough for me to throw my three and a half cents worth in the hat (that's one percent of three-fiddy). Since you are now shamelessly riding the conductor of the HFC crazy train, why don't you just go fully kookoo for Cocoa Puffs and make this the granddaddy of all HFC guitar raffles?!? Limited to forum members with more than 100 posts - or whatever, by selling just 30 tickets at the obligatory HFC $350.00 would net you the $10,500.00 you are seeking for this, "Holy Grail" of the Hamer Standard world. Or you could even bump it up five more to 40 total tickets, in order to raise some cash for the forum or the save the endangered, black footed snail fund ~ whatever makes your tubes glow. In my humbly worthless opinion, when you've admittedly gone this far off the reservation - and its clear to all of us you have - you can about get away with pretty much anything now and no one can utter a word ( Except your brother, who can always dispense a beatdown without cause or justification). And they called it . . . . . . "The HFC Ultimate, Three-Fiddy Guitar Raffle". -

OK, so I just double-checked to make sure its not April 1st. Its like seeing the Mona Lisa going up for sale all the sudden. What the heck is going on here?!?! -
Guitar bands at an all time low in the US
Boomerang~Junkie replied to gorch's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Great point of clarification - there has been that sort of tectonic shift in many business models and it continues to shift. Those terms and conditions will be relative until someone(s) breaks out into a new - truly dynamic - sustainable business model - whatever that may be. Great point. -
Guitar bands at an all time low in the US
Boomerang~Junkie replied to gorch's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I agree - some of it could only be considered background noise, but there is still some great new music and new groups out there. The market(s) evolution, on many fronts, will now be driven by technological advances. This new generation has some bright people who will still find ways to make money without some of the "old style" middle men (read record label moguls). They'll still exist but only as long as they continue to PROVE value to the process. If not, you'll be out. The landscape is changing faster than ever. If you intend to stay on top you'd better be smart and agile. -
PSA: Trans Black Talladega
Boomerang~Junkie replied to Drendino's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
The black Talladega arrived right before noon today while I was at work - my wonderful wife signed for it and wisked inside to acclimate some before opening it. It hit 103 degrees here today. I just got it open about thirty minutes ago - and YES it is beautiful ~ REALLY damn nice. Its too late to play tonight. I'll report more details and photos tomorrow night. -

Thank you. I totally agree - this will be Talladega number two for me. They are incredible guitars. Hmmm . . . I wonder what a fairly clean and fresh kidney would fetch on the open market these days? -

KICK-ASS. Bought and headed my way Monday. OK, so I know ib2010 bought this from Edrock. Edrock - did you buy this new or has this Talladega made the HFC rounds! Regardless, I am pumped. -

PM'd seller with offer. We'll see what happens. -
Happy 4th to ALL! I hope it has been an awesome and safe one for everybody. We were very fortunate to be able to enjoy another awesome 4th of July. Many of the incredible things about this awesome country, the fantastic people, the friends, THE best BBQ in the USA less than 30 minutes away, tons of other food and great beer - and shitloads of big-time fireworks. I mean shitloads, much of it commercial - the last 24 hours have been like a war zone and getting louder as we speak. A great time with family and friends was had by all. The last, but most important thing we celebrate on every 4th is our FREEDOM. The freedom to do most anything here and freedom of choice - including your choice of guitar manufacturer. Yes, I'm talking about S H I S H K O V G U I T A R S. So the other kick ass thing that happened today was that I was able to make my first deposit on my Shishkov Ultimate - I am completely stoked about this guitar build. No pressure here Mike, but after having my second daughter a month ago, this will probably be MY LAST new guitar purchase EVER, since I'll be so damn broke I won't be able to pay attention! All joking aside, this is an incredible opportunity and I am a very BLESSED and HAPPY man - and for that I am quite grateful. Let the sawdust fly ~ Happy 4th of July!

Mitch, You were in a tough spot on that one for a bit. You guy is more like a "guitar trauma surgeon" - wow. I'm really glad that worked out so well for you.
-
Mike, Very happy to see you back into the "gitfiddle bidness" ! That magic "they" used to have access to walked out with you and a few other neat folks. Your eye for detail is as keen as they come and your craftsmanship is impeccable. I hope you are wildly successful at this. I emailed you in order to "get in line" for some custom work. Best of luck to you!

Hey now, that's exactly what I'm going to do with that spalted maple you're sending my way! Don't use it all up now. Good grief, they were a little brutal on your Blitz. I'm glad it worked out for you. Also please don't forget to send me the shipping costs on that maple. -
Aside from the obvious - you'd better have a kick-ass, detailed business plan/model in place FIRST, before you make a single move. I don't think FMIC selling Guild was based on full cost recovery. So yes, there could be a (conceivable) play that could be made on the Hamer brand name - I hadn't considered it in that light until reading this thread. The amount and what comes with it are where the details matter. Again - any serious players considering this better have their fecal matter consolidated. Otherwise, there are fewer ways to turn a couple of million dollars into nothing - in fairly short order. Just my two cents worth.

May be tough for some to read and absorb - but Django nailed it ^ here ^. This dead horse has been beaten into paste.

MrJamiam, Good grief, the radar in your neck of the woods is looking insane. Get small and hang in there.
