Thanks for the kind words everyone. Cajun's guitar was an inspiration for the color. I was never a fan of burst guitars in tobacco sunburst, but that one opened my eyes.

I had nightmares about this burst being sprayed in a way I wouldn't like. This was first going to be green, then natural, then red...

The sustain block was a crazy request that I was surprised got approved. For me they are easier to deal with than a TOM. I liked the idea of having the neck pup slanted

which they complied with as well. The inlays were a tough choice. Really wanted boomers, then blocks, but decided to erase 'em instead. Hope I don't get lost. 6100 fret wire.

I did select a top at HFC. This is the 3rd top for this guitar. The others I went thru had cracks in 'em when they were split/carved. Jol picked out this one and I'd say it's

my fave. The others would have been a little more busy and over the top.

As I said earlier today, very cool Lou.

Enjoy it, and let me know if it isn't everything I told you it would be!

The customer requested our Sustain Block bridge—a perfect choice to pump up the vintage side of the equation. Not every guitar looks "right" with a quilt top, but it's hard to argue with this one.
Actually, the customer requested OUR Sustain Block Bridge, but Jol can be allowed a few mistakes being the busy guy that he is.

Seeing my parts on so many killer guitars is now kind of a double edge sword for me.

On one hand, it's a complete rush to see something I made with my own two little hands (and an $80,000 CNC!!) on the best built guits in the country. Kicks my ass every time!

On the OTHER hand though, is seeing Greg push like hell to get Hamer to even build Sustain Block guitars, only to have Jol take the credit. Granted - it's Jol's design and his company and his website and yada yada yada...but the fact remains that if Greg hadn't persisted, Jol would NEVER have looked back.

With the number of Sustain Block orders creeping up, Hamer is now making their own 'blocks in-house. That's very cool. It's great that they've responded to the demand.

But at the same time, Greg will no longer need the ones I made, and the few I have left will be the last from me. For me, that kinda sucks. No more struttin' around like a proud papa every time you guys order up another knockout guitar. No more showing off pictures to anyone who cares (or doesn't!!) and beaming "HEY! That's one of mine!". No more calling the wife over to the computer yelling "Look, honey, LOOK!!, only to have her smack me one for interupting "American Idol".

It's been a cool ride. I'm glad Greg let me take it with him.

And I'd like to thank Jol for allowing my parts to be used. It's been an honor.

You guys keep ordering Sustain Block guitars. Because SUSTAIN BLOCKS RULE!!

Hamerhead....I sent you a PM about the Sustainblocks.

Thanks.

Hey Silentman,

I wanted to say congratulation on your custom ordered Jeff Watson model with the Sustain Bridge. I'm sure you'll be having a blast playing the heck out of that cool, unique of a kind guitar of yours. Like Paris Hilton would say, "That's hot!!" and "Loves it".

Lou,

I had the pleasure of seeing that guitar when I was at the factory last Friday. It is really gorgeous with some sex appeal to boot. Enjoy it!!

I was taking to Greg today as he had it in had. Lawd a' Moicy, what an axe!

But the dot inlay in the binding on the end of the fingerboard is off center.

I think this is the point of no return for Gibby.

That is an awesome awesome guitar.

Classy as any Big Ticket Item can be (Baker / Fine Tuned).

I'm awed, really...

Lou - helluvascore!!

Very Cool I just noticed that this watson is more like a Watson meets cali since it has the slanted neck pickup like a cali. below is a photo of Jeff with his Watson from back in the day neck pickup is straight not slanted.

I'm still reeling over how cool this came out.

MikeC, it always kind of "bothered" me that the neck pup didn't match the angle of the fretboard, so I asked to have it slanted. The fine tuner bridge didn't make too much sense to me either so I asked for a Sustain Block. As I said earlier I was pleasantly surprised when they were approved. Hamerhead's bridges are the shiz.

Can you hear the sustain? Well, you would if it were playing? LOL

So why call it a Watson, why not call it a Miano?

That is another beautiful guitar, congrats.

Some of these pics are forcing my mind into custom order territory, hmmm...

OK, I'm a bit biased though! Hey Greg, I order you to make me a truss rod cover: "Lou Miano Model" It's fitting.

Mobbie had my vote for favorite Hamer of the Year for about 24 hrs. Talk about an 'O' face!

Thet are! Frets are Dunlop 6100's. My favorite. Got em on my Standard, Studio, and Daytona too. Gives me a 'scalloped' sort of feel.

WOOT!!!!

Lou forced me to plug it in, and it KILLS. The two pickups together on a clean setting has more spank than most Teles, and under gain, the bridge bucker is sweet and silky. To say that I am enamored is an understatement. The Sustain block and lightwieght construction make this a vibrator that plays music.

Congrats, Lou.

I just love this pic. BAD ASS!!
