I mean, it’s cool but what’s the neck carve? (Is it the V-shape…?)

What’s the acoustic voice?

How much for just one…?

Yeep! They don’t come cleaner than this one, and now I know what, “CTS”, stands for.

He should be thrilled to get $12k, but who knows? Maybe somebody with enough discretionary cash to purchase their adolescence will cough up the asking price.

The seller is totally full of shit.  A brand new Hamer Standard did NOT cost $2k in 1977 - not even a tricked out one.  The LIST price into the ‘80s was @$1,250, and dealers typically sold them for a little less.

Even besides that, the guy comes across as a total ass…

yeah... looks pretty good until you get to the headstock..... ish. uglier than dogs fucking.

I was just thinking the same thing! It was reminding me of those girls we used to joke about in high school where you had to put a bag over their head LOL

But I guess if you were lost in the desert and really needed to find water that headstock might come in handy...

Funny how the add copy describes the same bridge for the Sunburst and Standard…

Good catch! That was a cut and paste before there was such a thing

The text for the Standard is very incorrect though! 👨‍💼 They mixed it up with the Sunburst. Where does this cataloge come from?

Reads: "A fully adjustable, 6 ounce solid brass bridge - sustain block combination provides rock stable intonation and endless sustain".

Where's my time machine?

I'm continually scratching my head over the ignorance displayed BITD. Ignorance or naivety - I could have had a brand new bound and crowned Sunburst for just a bit more than I gave for a seriously mediocre 70's SG.

The perils of growing up in the sticks, I suppose. I had seen Hamers but had never considered the possibility of buying one and no idea of prices or even where one could be bought.

That was a dealer catalog, not actually from Hamer.  I think it may have been Audio Light & Musical (AL&M) from Norfolk, VA, but am not 100% sure.

AL&M was fun store to go in. They were heavy into providing stage gear for visiting artists. There was always something interesting afoot.
